Nope. I kept messing up the third time over and over but when I finally got it they gave me the piece. If you screw up just keep going, don't jump off the log or anything.

@Via1tunes You would be better off just going through the list of heart pieces all over again and taking notes of any you think you may have missed. Starting over because of one piece is not worth it.

About the one next to the cow in the cage. You don't need the owl's help. You can use a chicken to fly over to the spot. Just get on the building that isn't finished yet with a Cucco and fly over. Or, as an adult, you can get on the pile of sticks in the Cucco fence and jump off, you grab a ledge and pull yourself through the platform above you.

It is possible to get the piece of heart at 6:54 before going to Death Mountain. As kid Link, I threw a cucco on top of the center of the building that was under construction, climbed it, picked the cucco up, jumped to the left part of the wooden part of the building, then jumped to the house that the cow is in.

@metalmix1957 I see two possibilities, lets pick the most logical one.

A. You simply missed two pieces of heart and cannot find them.

B. Your copy of the game is for some reason messed up and just happens to be one of the only if not the only version of the game which has some sort of issue with the heart pieces.

I would pick A, and look in some more spots, maybe retrace my steps here and there.

I'm playing the Master Quest version and I missing just one heart of my collection, yet I swear I've been to every location and found them....I've played the Bombchu Bowling game dozens of times without the prize being the heart, so I'm pretty certain I got that one. The only one I can think of is the one where you buy a heart piece from the Deku Scrub by Lake Hylia, but he's not there, so it seems I've done that one too...help!!!!

@TWandAnimalLover I don't know what to tell you, other then try them all again. Think back to how many hearts in total you had before turning into an adult, if you had 11, that is the max at that point in the game.
