@streetlimitz89 Wtf do you mean dont see a 2-stroke pushing enough compression? Has nothing to do with engine compression and everything to do with exhaust flow. The more air the motor cycles through faster turbo spins. Do u understand how a turbocharger even works? And @boostdoctor good work man thing looks sick! Any chance to get her on a dyno? If so any idea at hp tq numbers?
how did u get the back pressure for the turbo to work well? problem with 2 strokes is the exhaust acts like a kind of exhaust cam but i didnt think it would work well enough to turbo.
dedicated oil sytem with electric pump. I used a Honda(car) fuel pressure regulator to hold pressure at 50 psi. It works well, but needs a battery to operate.
@boostdoctor thanks for the reply, last question i notice you have your carb setup blow through rather than suck through, does this not push fuel out the overflow and upset the float level? cheers, all the best from downunder
The bowl is pressurized by running a line from the plenum to the bowl vents. This pushes the fuel out the jet harder when on boost. The carb performs normally until it sees pressure.
a turbo on a loop scavenge just blows the charge out of exhaust unless u have reed controlled secondary transfers that r higher than exhaust port or unsymetrical exhaust timing (u need valves for this-eg-detroit diesel), plus the expansion chamber will have reduced effectiveness so u may even loose power!
also with all that charge blowing out of EX port u get extremely high temperatures like a blow torch so seizure is likely.
you fukn legend,, that is rad,, what is it like to start and are you still using the same expansion chamber? great build super neat and the thing moves i checked the other vid out,, good work my man..
Looks like alot to handle, but pretty fucking fun to ride, and dude if i were you i'd just ignore all the idiots that dont know what they're talking about on this site. i've seen countless 2 strokes with turbos, and never been able to keep up with one. And did you say you might be getting rid of trike, cuz if so how much you want?
Oh I know what u r talking about that pos is my new project bike I got it for $700 my nitro bike is a tri-z 250 and no video r made of it yet I don't want to jinks myself on it and that vid was made for a kid at my school
It probly is my bike is not finished yet I'm desperatly trying to get it together I was just wondering if ur setup was efficent I know u can turbo any internal combustion engine I have rewinds that tried to turbo a lawn mower but as with nitro rc the super charges are very ineffective and waste fuel like no other but did u find a way to combat that with expanison chamber that r costum made
I think my setup is more reliable. The motor holds up well; but the turbo does eat reeds fast. I'm using a stock rod; so I don't think it will hold much more power. I'm sure with a better rod; I could run alot more boost. I have no reason to push for more at the moment.
@boostdoctor one of the ppl you know is telling me that you have a cr 500 witha turbo that makes less than 150hp? adn i dient hear the turbo spool when it ran on your other vids??
@kingjamescr500af i said i dident hear it smart ass, i never said i dident belive what it said. and a one of my friends builds cr500 with turbo and they make around 150hp on pump gas. the due that said to look at this says that its like impossible for a cr500 to make that no matter what

should have kept the perfectly good cr 500 on two wheels!

i STILL dont see a 2 stroke pushing anywhere enough compression to turn a turbocharger.

why a trike it mkes it harder to ride wtf u ruined it

That looks lethal. Wouldn't mind seeing a dyno sheet.

looks like a waste of a perfectly good cr 500

OMG why would someone turbo a CR500, that must be crazy power!!!!!!!!

@soggytoast89 Forever man. Trikes take true skill when riding on trails at high speeds. Or racing...

how do you lubricate the bearing cartridge on the turbo given there is no internal oil source like a 4s?
