Anyway, tip for people! Don't use your windshield wipers when you have ice on the window. It deteriorates the wiper. Instead, use a window scraper and defrost your windows.

Haha! You shouldn't use your wipers do de-ice your windows! It tears up the blades. Also, you said the water was frozen when it seemed you were using the washers, do you use water in lieu of washer fluid? Because that's a bad idea also. Water can sustain mold, mildew and other things clogging your washer system. Plus washer fluid freezes at a much lower temperature, so if you are in a hurry and want to use your wipers (yes I void my own advice at times xD), washer fluid works wonders melting it
