  • Could you do a video of resetting the LCD connections for the nc8000? I got one for free and the connection is coming lose. I'm not quite sure how to remove the plastics and such, I'm tech savvy, this is just difficult though.

  • @opa435 I would love to, but I haven't had a nc8000 series in over 2 years. It should be pretty simple, just start taking stuff apart. :) Good luck.

  • Thanks mate! Really easy to understand!

  • I'm a school tech and you just saved me a lot of important time today .... Thanks!

  • You can install -

    512MB + 512MB

    1GB+1GB

    1GB+512MB

Do not install 2GB in one Socket, It will not work.

  • @rakeshexplorer can you put a 4gb in?

  • Thanks for the video. Saved me a lot of frustration.

  • can i put a 2gb and a 1g or jus have 1 2gb in one slot ?

  • @skatzy 1 stick per socket, and according to HP, only 1GB per socket will work. I never tried a 2GB piece.

  • Awesome!! Thanks for the video! You saved me a lot of time.

  • Thx for the vid, saved me some stuffing around looking for the second stick.

  • hi, do you have media for how to Disassembly nx8220 laptop ? to reach and replace power jack ?

  • @bestproject Search around HP's site, they should be able to help you...

  • I have the same laptop in the video, issue is the OM Thermal Management.

Q- can I replace this and how, cost? or best to just go out and buy another laptop?

    Thanks

    Gordon

  • @MrGordon121 Never heard of that, or had that issue. Sorry I can't help.

  • @spzhob Bright enough, but not like Macs.

  • how to bright LCD

  • Do you have any video on how to upgrade RAM on a hp compaq tc4400 tablet?

  • @ferfersoto No, sorry.

  • really helpful thanks man

  • Great video thanks !!

  • i dont think i can do this...

  • omfg you're in my house, i have that same laptop and same air hockey table

  • Great vid!

Note: on my nc8000, both of the ram slots where located under the keyboard.

  • Great video!

Now the questions! If you can answer that would be great!

I have a compaq presario CQ670 116em, it comes with 2gb ram. Can i upgrade it to 3 or 4gb the same way? Also is there anything i have to do on restart? Thanks again, great vids!!!

  • Compaq says your maximum memory is 3GB... Take one of the 1GB sticks out and put in 2GB. Do this while the computer is off, then boot it up and it should work. If not, this is very common, and you need to re-install Windows. (I have to do this all the time when I upgrade.)

  • You are the man! Thanks!

  • Update! I put in the 2gb card. Turns out both 1gb slots are inside the same panel on the bottom of my laptop, no need to remove keyboard etc.. very simple. Works great! Thanks for the vid, you'r a credit to youtube, keep it up!

  • Can you do a video about upgrading the hard Drive please?

  • Sure, check back in a day or two.

  • this will be so much easier in the Thinkpad.

  • Wow your nc8230 is completley different compared to my nc8230 (Aug 2005) where You needed to remove all 8 screws and the cooling fan was way smaller.....creepy....

Had DDR2 OCZ 667 for 9 bucks a gig, cost 140 bucks regular...gotta love sales....

  • Mine is July 2005. That's very odd. I have had my system board replaced by HP though...under warranty. They should have used the same board though... very weird.
