DYNAMITE Number. Saw this film when it came out,Sammy,Perhaps the BEST All-Around entertainer along with CAGNEY whom he pays tribute to in this piece, along with Jerry Lewis and Al jolson!
He could sing, he could act, he could dance, he could do comedy, he could do anything... People always wanted more....and and Sammy gave them more.....RIP
You said it !! Not only that but he was also a fast draw with a sixgun in Hollywood westerns as well. Only Mel Torme was faster. Robert Culp was third.
Please forgive my ignorance, I didn't know comments had to be approved. They usually pop up right away. Maybe there are a few people that don't know the process. I had NO idea about that. I thought youtube controlled all that.
You have the option of approving or not. I choose to do so because I have had people leave nasty comments about Jimmy Stewart, Dean Martin and Audrey Hepburn being a racist. I wont put up with that so I make sure to approve the comments. Most people know about it and I too apologize for thinking you knew.
Old Sammy D was amazing indeed, I love this number. But did you hear that music? The arrangement is wonderful. You should also hear "Style", the music is great. Real entertainment was then, today if it ain't blowing up it ain't entertainment. But it is crap.
@phizzstar you forgot nudism, violence and swearing.Did i leave anything else out?
All together "entertainment" these days is crap indeed.I saw they tried to redo the Roasts that Dean Martin used to do on Comedy Central...95% of the jokes are sex related...No...give me these guys then.Give me the Dean Martin Roasts where the folks had humor and didnt have to grasp at sex to make the sheep laugh and cheer for em.....
Little known fact; Sammy was one of a few actors at the time that could actually do those hand tricks with real guns. Most actors would use light weight replicas.
J'adore ! Un film qui restera toujours dans mon coeur, le tout premier film avec Sinatra et compagnie que j'ai eu qui me donne l'amour des comédies musicales.
Davis just didn't dance enough later in his career. He was known as the fastest dancer extant in the very early '50s.
