  • why dont they spin around? they dont have a tail rotor like a helicopter and the are short, i dont get it.

  • @cube101010 A helicopter needs a tail rotor to counter the torque the engine produces on the airframe to spin the rotor blades. On a gyro the engine does not power/spin the rotor blades. They are always in autorotation. The forward speed of the gyro spins the rotor blades so no tail rotor is needed.

  • @tchick so the wind turns the rotor and the rotor gives lift while moving forward. does that mean it can't hover??? thank you, BTW i really want one of these even though im only 14

  • @cube101010 A gyro can not hover but can simulate a hover. Unlike an airplane, Gyros can fly very slowly without stalling so if the wind is blowing 10-15 mph they can point into the wind and appear to hover. The gyro thinks it's flying slowly since it feels 10-15 mph but in relation to the ground it appears to hover. Search youtube for Gyronimo and look at the video of Ron Awad. He was flying in some wind and did some "hovering" in that video. You can visit the Rotary Forum for more info on gyros

  • WTF

  • I like this one. Thanks for uploading. The site though does not have anything on this model. What is the price?

  • Contact Ernie Boyette through RFD's web site for more info. I don't represent them. I just video tape the gyros at the fly-ins I attend.

  • thank you very much,
