  • If it's not Christmas I'm probably not watching Die Hard. ALSO kudos to responding to your youtube "haters". Guts, sir. You have them.

  • Down side to watching our entertainment: American accents change depending on the movie. You could have a northeast, southern, or Midwestern accent, but if you combine them, it gives it away that you are faking it. By the way, we say coffee just like British people. Not cahffee.

  • Its easy for me to do a british accent

But then again i watch Top Gear all the time soo

  • Your American accent is really good man. I honestly LOVE British accents and wish I could do one but I'm terrible! :/ I shall learn eventually though, maybe once I go to England next year I'll learn!

  • Your American accent is pretty good, but its a little jumbled :) Some of the time you sound like a New Yorker, other times a Texan. In California, we apparently all say coffee the british way. In the south, they probably say it the other way though! Love your videos. SO FUNNY.

  • WHATEVER!!!! ITS SO EASY FOR AMERICANS TO DO BRITISH ACCENTS!!! I WOULD KNOW!

  • @obsessivefreak2

Actualy it's vice-versa. He's British and picked american accent.

  • Wow! You did pretty good!

  • I liked the snapping part

  • You said 'Coffee' right! Chocolate biscuts??? Never heard of that before. By the way, in all the videos i've watch by English people that are boys they all have the same hair cut!!! ^^ It's really funny! But you should compare how the different states say Mountain because people say that down here in Utah we pronounce mountain with the 'T' but other states don't. I guess we're really weird here. ^^

  • I think it's easy to do the British accent. I mean, idk how hard it may be to the average American but it depends where you're from. I'm from NY so idk if that has anything to do with it.

  • It was good but it was kinda funny (:

  • thanks i like it,.,,صلي علي نبي خمس مرات و امانة في

رقبتك تبعتها لي 7 جروبات عندك و لو مش قدرت تبقا ذنوبك الي منعتك مش تعبك امانة في

    رقبتك لي يوم القيامة‬

  • I agree with you Its alot harder for us Americans to try at an English accent, ecpecially if yall are from Texas like myself. :p

  • From 1:52 - 2:25 you were so cute, it made me smile. :p

  • btw chocolate's bad for your skin, you should cut it out of your diet, i have, along with doing many other things and have cleared up my skin, just saying

  • dont you feel american accent is more masculine than you're british girly accent?

  • good job im american from tennessee u did a good job

  • Dude, you are Hugh Fucking Laurie. I couldn't detect a trace of an accent. That was pretty impressive.

  • Sounds great! Pretty much flawless :D

  • I'm American. Your accent is flawless other than maybe a slightly accented (or too frontal, i'm not sure) sound in the first a in "american" towards the beginning of the video, although it's not very noticeable. Otherwise, I noticed no mistakes. And could you teach me the English accent?

  • Wow. I'm impressed lol I seriously would never have known the difference. I agree, it is harder for Americans to imitate an English accent. HOWEVER, being a huge fan of Top Gear (obviously the UK one, the US one sucks), Jonathan Ross, Jimmy Carr, the original Office, The Inbetweeners, and Gordon Ramsay (okay, I like BBC news too), I have a lot of reference points to imitate the English accent, and I think I do one fairly well lol I would a video aimed at Americans trying the British accent.

  • y would you want an american accent? British accent is way hotter ;D

  • dont ever loose your accent ahaha people here in america melt over yalls accent!! and its also really hard to talk like yall

  • you are the one person ive heard that doesnt make the american version of coffee sound like youre from new york, cuz obviously all americans say the word coffee with a new york accent. ;) haha

  • dude! haha. good job!

  • Reason why i love this video

    1. he has red hair

    2. he's British and does an AWESOME american accent

    3. he wearing a Batman shirt ^^

  • I totally agree with you. Americans learning a British accent is harder than British people learning an American accent. I'm from California and I LOVE the British accent. I think it's totally sexy:] Anyways, I've been teaching myself over and over again and I sort of have the hang of it, but some words I can't say. But good job with your American accent(:

  • hahaha! im american...that was a really good accent! and yeah, i didnt realize that most movies/tv shows are with american accents...and very few songs have british accents

ps. YOURE the one with the accent! (heheh)

  • I kinda love you?

  • wow!! the way u said coffee in your american accent was the best i heard a brit say it!! im american and i suck at any kind of accent, except american obviously......

  • haha sounds good! :D

  • I like your bon jovi shirt <3

    And its pretty okay.

  • lol Your accent is pretty good =]] Kudos to you.

  • I like how when other cultures attempt speaking like a general American, they normally sound so enthusiastic. Like when you said "rock concert" like an American, you sounded really enthusiastic. But now that I think about it Americans sometimes overdo the English accent (whichever one they're trying to imitate).

  • Well... we Americans have Harry Potter to help. (:

  • In america your way of speaking would be considered "gay"

  • No brit ik can say coffee right the american way!

  • @cheercutiee11 omg ikr it soo steriotypical im american and NOBODY talks like that i live in the northeast and no one ever says that

  • Haha i love this !! Im american and its weird hearing someone explain the american accent lol..you did a good job at the american accent and i think i can do a pretty good british accent lol

  • Comment removed

  • there talking in american ioi

  • ahaha i love both of your accents xD

  • I feel like I do an okay accent for every country, even Britain, but I'm also pretty sure if I visited, people would look at me funny if I went around speaking in my fake accent. I've always thought that since America has pretty much mostly American music, that other countries have mainly music from their countries too, but apparently that's not the case. Like, in Germany, it's mostly American music.

    Funny.

  • Yeah ur right I can't do a British accent at all and I'm American

  • It is so funny to see how whenever Britts imitate Americans their voice raises an octave higher! lol ... we don't say 'ya know' that much! ....do we?

It is all about the flat vowels!

  • haha you are soooo funny watched ur little "singing in a britich accent" i watched like 15 times

  • Not everyone in the us is southern it's so annoying how alot of people think that

  • Try doing a southern accent

  • thats the closest american accent i've heard compared to a lot of other youtube videos....well at least an accent that resembles that of the east coast states

  • i just dislike when british people try to do american accents and think we're ALL from the valley. It depends what part of america you are trying to do an accent from as well. I want you to try a southern accent lol GOOD LUCK

  • You have an amazing American accent, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the part where u said that it's easier for British to talk American than it is for American to talk British. Pretty much all of my friends and alot of people I know can do pretty decent British accents and when I look up videos of British people doing American, alot of them aren't too great at it. That's just my opinion. But i really like your video :)

  • songs in the british accent, anything with the beatles!! greatest band ever!

  • Super talented with awesome voice! Wish you all the best in your endeavors--you definitely need to be in entertainment!

  • uhh.. megadouche?(: yeahh. i think soo:b

  • Im american and i think british accents are so hard! You're pretty good!

  • You're right! I try to work on my British accent, but all I have to go by is Harry Potter....don't get me wrong, I love Harry Potter, but still, it's not enough. That and Monty Python.

  • is that what yall brits forreal think we sound like??

  • shouldn't an american be teaching an american accent?

  • That was a weird vid... you kept slipping between the two accents so much that i wasnt sure if you were an american trolling us or really what you said you were till the last comment about the chocolate biscuits. I really liked the vid

  • @bognia18456 hahah you are only making yourself look stupid by hating on another. wow you are cool. *sarcasm*

Luke, I'm frum Amurica hah and i hear more of a southern accent when you say the words. I'm from the north (Indiana) and we don't talk like that. we have a more "proper" (I guess....) accent? idk.

  • @bognia18456 Let's dissect the fail. 1 - i'm 19, 2. Why would i move out now when i'm emigrating next year? that's a massive waste of money, you clearly havent watched my latest video that explains that. 3, this channel is by no means a fail, as it had no expectations. 4, i talk to a camera. 5, i'm not a prick. I have no problem removing your pointless comments :)

  • oh diehard

  • the accent is decent but otherwise this channel is so pathetic, you may as well have called yourself charlieissocoollike because that is who you are obviously trying so hard to be. get some originality man.

  • @bognia18456 This comment is a little pathetic. Charlieissocoollike made a video about an accent, does that make it illegal for anyone else to make one too? I'm just a vlogger like the rest of the people on here. If you don't like my videos then please don't watch them, and you don't need to waste your time posting pointless comments.

  • @lukecooldude why dont you just think of something original to do yourself instead of just copying other and better vloggers and just not being anywhere near as good.

  • @bognia18456 I'm not here to think of something original, i'm here to vlog. Why don't you do something original instead of hating on people's videos like the other douchebags.

  • @lukecooldude then your shit at vlogging cos vlogging is about originality. no wonder that after 2 years you only have 28 000 views.

  • @bognia18456 Actually no it's not about that. And i'm not here for views, i'm here to make videos because i have fun making them. I have 600 subscribers which i'm actually proud of, that's amazing. I love making the videos i make and i don't see anyone else that makes british vs american words. People like you are pathetic, you waste your life hating on people. Get a life

  • @lukecooldude no i didnt watch your last video nor will i watch your next one you sad fuck.

  • @bognia18456 Enjoy your sad little life

  • @lukecooldude haaaa not only are your videos fucking unoriginal and shite but your comments are unoriginal. You just keep copying what i saw you fucking mug

  • @bognia18456 what is your obsession with originality? I've said like 3 times i don't care, i'm not here to be original! get a life!

  • i like your real accent :)

  • lmao everyone always says caaahhfee lol coffee

  • lol

    'talking in american"

    :D

  • Lol. Funny vid...and good accent :)

  • im American and you sound really good if you talked like that in some other video i wouldent even emagine you were british

  • lmao "talking in American" hahahaha it's not a languageXD lmao I say talking in British too so it's okayXD

  • my american accent is tits...check my vid...this guy blows

  • ok, not brilliant.

  • My small American brain can't process the sudden accent change... -malfunction-

(No offense intended, I'm American guys. =P)

  • LOL! Try doing this with a Chicago accent. A east Philly accent. A southern Cali accent. Cause here in the States there are various accents and we all don't sound the same. Water is not pronounced the same here in the U.S. in some parts of the East coast its said like woooder LOL! I have seen too many films where Brits play Americans and they slip up all the time or they're not getting the region right.

You're accent was okay, but I don't know anybody that talks like that.

  • dude you rock thats the best american accent i have ever heard from a british or what ever person

  • Pretty good american accent, but it sounded a bit like you were from the south.

  • lol of course he had to throw on xbox in there

  • lol I actually have tried singing in an english accent before. It's hard! I think it does work for some songs, but not many haha

  • ive never heard the queen speak, i did see the movie "the queen" though lol. We listen to a lot of british bands and we love Ricky Gervais. The kooks sing in a really cute accent.

  • go watch die hard. OK!!!

  • Nice job!

  • Haha that end bit would have worked great if you would have remembered that biscuits are cookies in America :) haha cocoolate flavored biscuits would be gross :P

  • I watched all the Monty python movies and shows i talked in a British accent for almost two days

  • press 4 really fast.

  • my sister walked in the room at the start of this video and was like "of corse he can give tips about how to do an accent! hes american!" the funny thing is...we have lived in ohio all of our lives.... :D

  • @Live0Laugh0Twilight haha thanks!

  • @Live0Laugh0Twilight Go ohio!:DDD

  • im american and actually its easier for americans to doan english accent

  • actually its easier for americans to doan english accent

  • That was a shit ascent!! And I hate it when British people do American ascents and it's crap and they say it's how we talk!! Like really

  • good

  • I hate British people sorry the way they talk pisses me off

  • 0:42...totally retarded face)))

  • You sound like bam margera

  • I was born in the us and have lived here my whole life, but my mum is from England so I get to hear the accent every day. Friends at school tease me a lot for saying words different, but they are just jealous because I get the best of both worlds! You English is amazing! Almost better than mine :)

  • "most of the time they're talking in american" LOL we speak english ...

  • Die Hard = America.

    Bruce Willis would be proud.

  • Actually, Hugh Laurie does a GREAT American Accent! Yours is PRETTY GOOD too.

  • It sounded like you said dye hart.

  • Chocolate biscuits??? EW!!!!

  • Good accent!

  • We almost NEVER hear other accents! It is hard to do a British accent though.

  • you're funny, you should have your own show.

  • xbox was the same!

  • ;)..

  • Im sorry but your american accent is crap... No disrespect but it needs work... Constructive criticisem.

  • @jackofhearts1994

How was that constructive criticism? You didn't provide anything he could do to improve.

He really didn't do that bad of a job.

  • You did a BRILLIANT job speaking Standardized American English! Picking up the 'proper' American accent from absorbing and engaging in American entertainment is a fantastic way to learn how we speak it! You have the BEST American accent I've heard so far! I'm serious (coming from a person with a regional New York City accent)!

  • Did he just say that oasis sings in an American accent? Ginge

  • Do i see a 'I'm Mc Lovin' in the back round? your american accent is the best i have heard from non-americans but mines better cause im an American.

  • I just hear british accent from Harry Potter

  • I don't think British is hard, at least not for me; but my accent could be terrible and I'm completely oblivious to it.

  • Look at your veiws: Almost ALL of them are from America! lol

  • (I'm American) You're reallly good. And you are right, it's hard for us to pick up british stuff. -_- Do you like American accent?

  • @WazziBerry not all of us. i can do a good british accent. but i am part british tho.. english whatever you wanna call it.

  • Sounds like your from Ohio deff not newyork or southern accent in the states but very good. well Done

  • We don't speak " in american" haha.we speak english..with an american accent to you. But your American accent isn't too bad.good job!

  • hah-ree paw-teh** is the key

  • Wow! You voice is low..

  • i cant speak in english accent it sounds weird when i try

  • HMMM.......not bad....not bad at all.........

  • OMG!! You are really really good at the American accent ... well the californian accents, definetly !!!

  • I like your accent . I am Thai

  • "they are talking in american" LOL!

  • You do a pretty good American accent. Here in the U.S. i would definitely mistaken you for a american.Good job!subscribed!

  • "Should've just clicked once" haha =]

  • I'm good at British accent. :3

I really don't think Americans have accents.

  • @TheKatieoreo That's probably because where so used to speaking and hearing american accents that we don't declare it an accent. But if we go to any other foreign country then they would probably declare it an accent i guess. But yeah i agree!

  • that was really good exept i think you kinda sliped when you said coffee (when you pronounced the o it sounded a tiny bit like an a) but other then that its was good and i actually think its equally as hard for both to learn eachothers accents :)

  • hugh laurie. <3 oh my gosh.

  • That was the best American accent ever

I'm american and it is hard to do the British accent because everthing on t.v. or the telly as you say is American

I have watched a couple of British movies but I gotta say I am horrible

    Still working on it

  • chocolate biscuits? are what americans call cookies right????

Ehhh, , , ,I think im okay at the english accents though(:

  • @Cakeypie13 erm... no we have cookies too.

  • wow ur good

  • True. Oasis does sound american :/ though Pink Floyd is one of the few british bands that DOES sound british in their songs, and that's how I learn British accents :D

    btw great video!!

  • well done!

  • That was really pretty good!

It pretty much slaughter a British accent!

  • your "obviously" was a little off.

.... but that's pretty much it. HAHA you were excellent.

  • I was watching an interview of an accent coach (for actors) and she was saying that part of the reason it's more difficult for americans to learn an english accent is because, for some reason, we're far more self concious about making mistakes (excluding idiots who think they're great at it, but in reality their bad immitation is offensive), so we are hesistant to try it in front of others. Personally, i love linguistics but it's terrifying to try another accent knowing it will sound wrong.

  • SWEET!!! May i have a chaocolat buistcet?

    E=3

By The Way it is easyer for an american to speak with a british accecent than it is the other way around. (TRUST ME!)

  • your okay

  • you are REALLY good! :D

  • "talking in american"-accents. american isn't a language... lmao

  • yeah, his American accent is pretty good......it sounds like neutral American Mid-western...like the way TV news casters are taught to speak

  • Hahaha Good accent! Im american, and if i ever moved to england, it would be sooooo hard to not try and copy their accent hahahahaha

  • Lol okay okay I'll go watch Die Hard stop nagging me!

  • remember the ginger kid from October Sky?

  • Go watch Die Hard. lol!

  • I want to subscribe but I'm on y iPhone and i don't really know how to. :( but that was pretty good! And I didn't know you had that many American movies and stuff over there..! I know my British accent from Kate nash's songs and Harry potter hahahaha thats pretty much it. But you're funny! P.s. I'm from Michigan.

  • @joevjjj he really didn't do so bad, that was kinda good actually. But really is a little harder for us to do there accent though........

  • Hey, your American accent is really good!

I caught my English accent from Doctor Who, the new Sherlock, etc, so..

  • heeey pal ...i really wanna know like do you ( british ppl) pronounce A as U like always and for you its Ulways ..like also its ulso huh getting it ???

ask me i don't give a shit about american accents its just the bollocks .

  • Haha, "chocolate biscuits." That just conjured up a strange image in my mind.

Regardless, funny video and excellent American accent.

  • I guess apparently I say rock concert, coffee, and xbox like a british person apparently XD

  • @Evaspie I apparently say apparently a lot XD

  • I really like the way you say "also" :D

How many types of British accents can you name, in general? Because I know there are different ones obviously, like in America how there are Chicago accents, New York Accents, Georgia Accents and Carolina accents... how do accents vary depending on location over there?

  • arctic monkeys. exception that proves the rule.

  • Very good. Personally, I think it's harder for Brits to imitate American accents than Americans to imitate British accents. But you do have a point about the plethora of American movies.

  • @CreativeProfiteer98 trust me it is wayyyy harder for americans to talk with a british accent. i want a british accent. ):
