  • Not necessary, I went out and bought a set myself and am halfway through installing them. I like them a lot although I did have to replace the 2 black screws holding the metal shield inside because the threads were stripped. I used a #4 sized bolt and carefully tightened them up.

Did you adjust the cutoff color? If so, how?

  • @JasonWW2000 What's not necessary? No, I didn't adjust the cutoff color. In fact I did not take the projector apart at all. It was just like that when I installed them. I have Morimoto Mini H1's now, go to my channel and you will see footage of that one. Much better than the G1.

  • Great video. I'm giving it 5 stars. :)

Do you have any pictures of your headlight housing or how you installed them?

  • @JasonWW2000

I can get a pic of them in my headlight housing if you would like. Installation is very easy, the most meticulous part is baking your headlights. I personally do 300F for 8 minutes, however I heard a lower temperature such as 200F will not melt the lenses, so you can leave them in longer in case you "forget" they were in there. It's a very easy install though. Tweaking the cutoff line is something I was able to do after everything was already installed.

  • Ah okay.. I am like you, I have ordered 6k but I think I will change to 4300k..

The output will be brighter, will be a hint of yellow so I hear, but that being said, means the blue cutoff should look nice being contrasted with the 4300k compared to the 6k.

  • Thank you for this vid!!

Is there a flicker of colors when you move around in front? Was it ever where one light was white and the other was blue? or even yellow?

Thanks!.. also, hows the widths on these things? I've read bad on them, but this vid seems perfectly fine!

  • @jimtimlisa

There isn't a "flicker" really, but there is some blue and yellow at the cutoff line, mainly blue like illustrated in the video. Width is significantly better than stock halogens and PnP HIDs.

  • @09ThunderOne

Thank you, with the 4500 you might actually get some flicker since there will be such a difference in cutoff colors.. it will be going from yellow/white to blue, would look awesome.

I'm about to replace my PnP HIDs in reflector halogen headlight assemblies with this G1.. should help some.

  • @jimtimlisa

It will help a lot. Light output will be about the same, but it is DOT compliant and has a much wider beam. Oh, and the high beam kicks ASS!

  • Yeah.. I am not looking for a brighter light, but I want it even and projected evenly around the car.. I am sick of driving with PnP reflector HIDs and have globbing light everywhere.

Yeah, ive read that the high beam is comparable to most OEM hid projectors =D

  • Also, was this vid taken with the high beam or low beam?

  • @jimtimlisa

I'm glad you are looking to make your HIDs legal! Haha. I know I used to piss people off when I pulled up behind them at a stop light because all the glare caused their entire interior to light up like a Christmas tree haha. That is no more, no matter how close I get, and I'm in a lifted truck!

  • @jimtimlisa

The video was taken with low beams, notice the construction vehicle and the cutoff line that is projected onto it. The blue that is above the cutoff becomes easier to see at long distances.

  • Good Good.. your in a lifted truck? Mind me asking what type it is? It looks sorta like a hyundai from the front, but its pretty dark.

Also, can you see that blue cutoff when your driving?

  • @jimtimlisa

Yeah you can see it on street signs and stuff. I'm in a 3" lifted Tacoma.
