i have a ton of vinyl records, cassettes & of course 8-tracks!!!! i play the 8-tracks in my 1970 dodge charger. my first brand new car. plus of course i go on you-tube alot!!!! ray.........
I can still see my mom and dad dancing to this song back in the 60's. Both gone now. So it brings a tears to my eyes thinkging of that memory , but with a smile too.
@tkaye2 >>:The picture at 2:16 was quite a surprise!<< I thought it would be :-). Just the two of them strolling down Primrose Lane hand in hand. LOL Not a political statement, just having fun--I liked GWB.
@lnefouse I too was in 8th grade when this song was popular. My father bought Gus Belts [ Father of Steak and Shakes\ home on 1110 e emerson st. bloomington il. in 1957 and that is where I grew up.It was an old 2 story house & 1 acre, built in the 20's and I remember a chevrolet from the late thirties in the garage when we took possession of the house.I loved sliding down the upstairs banister to get from my upstatirs bedroom down to the dininng room.I loved that old house & have many memories.
It's a shame most people never heard of this song or listened to it only 8700 hits, I was in high school when this song came out..it takes me back to happy days
I had the pleasure of working with Jerry during the early 70's and was his road manager in the latter 80's ....he was a good friend and will be missed. No one can replace Mr. Smooth!
Great song! The city my mother lives in, Lynchburg, Virginia has a street called Primrose Lane, which always made me think of the song when I went past it.
Weird how I can start humming something out of the blue and what's great these days, I can come to YT and find it! How cool this day and age is. Thanks for posting this song. :-)
It's amazing. Not only that, but just think of any old television show you haven't seen in 30 years. Go to youtube and you're traveling back in time. The more we move forward, the more it enables us to relive the past.
@MrTrashcan1 I agree. As much as I wish sometimes I could have lived this time period.. The internet has allowed me more access than I would have had even at that time.
I love his voice, I just have to go and find all his records. What a joy. I know he must be making all the angels in Heaven happy with that voice he was blessed with.
Any chance you could come up with Jerry's "If You Leave Me Tonight I Will Die (or Cry)"? It was used on Night Gallery, and I interviewed him on one of my first radio interviews during its release. Thanks.
