For history u may want to look up El's truly gifted brother, Bobby (RIP) He was El and Prince before either went Gold (for looks and falsetto) search Switch-I Call Your Name. Motown owned the name and the only way it was usable was if they to record with Motown. Now, Prince gave them the name but everything Prince did with Warner is owned by Warner. Soooo, since Prince is no longer with Warner they can't use The Time. the good thing is Morris and prince are still the best of friends.

The electronic drums, a custom set of Simmons at the time, were not that easy to play, so its particalarly amazing Prince pulls out a very original solo on them! The LM-1 being right next to the HiHat and the small custom Bobby Z. roto toms I think triggering the Linn drum machine's internal sound set, via MIDI.

They BOTH wrote great songs & their vids will be long remembered. I am a fan of both of their musical styles & can appreciate what they EACH contributed to our entertainment!

The electronic drums, a custom set of Simmons at the time, were not that easy to play, so its particalarly amazing Prince pulls out a very original solo on them! The LM-1 being right next to the HiHat and the small custom Bobby Z. roto toms I think triggering the Linn drum machine's internal sound set, via MIDI.
Lots of innovative stuff then.
The horn riff is lifted from a Chic Corea Fender Rhodes solo... but you'll never guess which Miles Davis song it is. I discovered it, good luck!
