Their mothers were sisters. But King George V refused about his cousin´s family to escape to GB during the Russian revolution. Sounds cruel ! But there must have been political reasons. Or what do you think abou that ?

Well for George V, I think you should see this BBC movie "the lost prince". You can understand better his decision. I think that anybody would have wondered they would end so tragically. That was simply unthinkable. And so many monarchies have ended after WWI
