Murray Gell-Mann clearly suffered from a mild form of depression throughout his early career. this is not the first time he admitted mentioning about suicide, before the Omega Baryon was discovered he asked one of his colleagues "what building would be best for me to jump off" due to him having spent 2 years waiting for the particle to be discovered which would later prove his baryon decouplet model and proving the existence of quarks.

@MuonRay What you're saying here sounds very plausible but how do you get the information concerning his private life ?
I'm just a mathematics enthousiast and half a chemist, I know baryons (protons and neutrons) but I assume you're a physics student/teacher ?
