all right , you know I live in Los Angeles and some time ago I saw the EX42 in one of those piano stores in Corea town, and I asked for permission to test it for a little bit and wow, i really was impressed; I dont think I ever asked how much was it, but how much money do you think the organ is in today standards? cheers
@decatlon14 Hi there, I really can't guess what one is worth today. Some organs just get old, and old organs are not worth much. Some organs get old, and become classics ( like an EX-42 ), so then they retain their value, or even increase in value as they get hard to find. You would have to have a pretty large wad of cash to make me even consider selling mine, so, I guess I am not much help.
@decatlon14 I'm using the R-60B cabinets that belong to the EX-42. They are on the other end of the room though. The 42 is sitting right next to one of the TX-1s that belong to the FX-1. It's pretty full of organs and speakers in that room !
There are 5 levels of skill: - Bad -- Decent --- Good ---- Unique ----- LarryFX1 Damn it seems that you just love hitting the keys on that Yamaha EX 42! This I call skill and joy! I bet you improvised parts of this song in the "Larry-style", haha! You really fancy that instrument and thats how you play the song either! Bravo!
This is pretty fucking uber mate. (Huge fan of the movie here and I like your version). You are one skilled BAMF. I've watched this video 6 times in a row and it gets better every time I watch it. I am jealous and in awe of your talent at the same time. Thank you for putting this video together. Kudos!
Ho Boy... Now that's what I call "...an arranger's touch..." towards the Organ. You really should check out a Mellotron, the Big one with two Keyboards.
I know that not easy to play on organ this soundtrack of Ennio Morricone, but your interpretation is very nice !! You made same sound with a personal style !! Bravo !!
hi again Larry, no i am not in a band, i just like the song A Swinging Safari , so i try to view as many as i kind find of that song, my favorite is from a middle school band, they were on the ellen show, friend of mine is in the Hunter Mckithan band, he is the drummer, his name is Smitty, you can check out some of there videos on youtube or there websight, we are in texas,,,,,,,,,,, and no they wont play a swinging safari,, i already asked, LoL
Larry . yes that would be real cool if you would youtube the song by Bert Kaempfert.. A Swinging Safari.....i would greatly appreciate it. I will keep watching for you to post. it..........many thanks to you
Thanks for the encouragement ! I looked at your channel; are you in the band paying it ? Very cool ! Give me a week or two to get my arrangement back together. Then we will see. Thanks for reminding me of the tune. An old fave to be sure .
Hey, thank for the nice comment ! Yes, I do know Swinging Safari. Not sure what you mean by the " full length version" though. If I recall correctly, that is a Bert Kampfert tune ? I know a version, but it might not be all you want ? PM me and we will chat about it. I have not played it in many years, so it may be a while before I will post a version. You want it on the EX-42 I figure ? Very cool that you know vintage stuff to even ask ! I will try .
Wow. That was one of the best versions I have ever heard. You play excellent. What a great sound. Looks like you really had fun doing it too. I'm gonna pass this on. You should cut a record.
Felicidades, me gustò mucho la tecnica de su organo ex-42, ademas tiene muy buen sonido, no se compara con los organos dehoy pero me gusta mucho la melodia que toco usted, me gusta mucho tocar el organo pero la verdad usted toca bien The Bad, and The Ugly.
UM ya freakin awesome. i kinda was hopin ud throw in the ur own vocals for second half of song one of my favorite parts but still awesome none the less
Cool. This is probably the only EX-42 I will see in action. Very cool. And now I want one of those two !! The pitch-ribbon and the solo synth are pretty awesome. Hope to see more videos!!! Very nice playing too ....Cheers!
Pretty much better then the "My Sweet Lord " of the other guy.. It was the first organ with IC technique. that what makes it special later models D 85 and E 70 sounded much better...The Leslie boxes where OUT OF THIS WORLD !! and over 400 watt RMS....
Great! Thanks a lot!

Hi Larry,
Firstly may I offer you my belated condolences at your sad loss.
I too have just lost loved ones, my dear brother Ray, followed soon after by my dear Mother.
So I know the heart-ache that losing a loved one brings, together with the sense of loss and loneliness.
But you have carried your grief through your music and you have done well.
Be strong and God bless you.
