Like Black Friday Blitz sales, the new Pepsi logo is a social experiment. They just wanted to see if the logo really influenced sales, so they came up with the most hideous logo they could make. One that no one could possibly find appealing. And guess what? It didn't affect sales. I could have told them that for a buck fifteen, but instead they spent all that money and ended up with a hideous logo, so nice going, Pepsi.

i believe the reason pepsi changed the logo is because they realized that the overall flow of the logo points downward from left to right so they replaced it with one that flows upwards and the stripe grows bigger in hopes that the logo would reflect a similar pattern on thier profit flow charts.

I always thought the point of the white wavy line was to communicate that there was some kind of liquid involved in this product, which is exactly true. The smile has absolutely no meaning other than "this might make you smile when you drink it" but there's no indicator that its even a drink so whose to say? At least the wavy white line was TRUE.
