I got turned onto Coco a couple of years ago buy a former roadie of mine. He told me that Coco sounded a lot like myself, so I bought 4 CD's. Love this guy!
visit a friend today Dave Myers & Family they toldme, they went to coach house and met Coco Montoya and he got a signed cd.
Now i think he did a gig at Pechanga or San Manuel but i was at the Poker game so i didn't see his show. i guess i have to wait when he can to do another gig.--JJ:-)
@MrMaffaa He played drums for Albert Collins, who then taught him to play guitar. It was only later that he played guitar for Mayall. I'd say Collins created and discovered him, and Mayall just reaped the benefit of that talent as it grew.
Coco Is Just The Guitarist That Never Got The Recognition That He Deserved ! By Far He Was A Living Legent .... He Will Always Have A Very Special Place In MY Blues Heart ! JO JO TAYLOR !
Unlike a lot of flashy blues guitar slingers out there, Coco can SING the blues with the best of them. A blistering guitarist and a soulful, powerhouse vocalist.
Coco played at the local blues series in town tickets were $10 advance $12 at the door, those were the days! "sigh"

Awesome. I wish someone would upload "Seven Desires" -- I can't find it anywhere on the web.

He wasn't discovered by Collins, he was created by him. Coco initially played drums for Collins, who then taught Coco the guitar.
