a lot of teachers will totally ream you out for your phone ringing, so maybe she didnt want the teacher to know it was her? If your packed like sardines, it probably would have been hard to tell who's phone it was. I dont know because I wasn't there. but picking up your phone and having a conversation IS very very rude!

every teacher handles things differently. I have a few teachers who dont mind people having ipods, phones, etc AS LONG AS IT DOESNT MAKE ANY NOISE and it's not distracting you or anyone else from work. For example, you can have your ipod on as long as the teachers not talking, but if other people can hear it the teacher will ask for you to turn it off or else she will take it until the end of class. I, for one, ALWAYS make sure my phone is at least on vibe-only before even going into class.

My daughter directed me to this 'rant' ;) I am a college professor and have solved this problem in my classes by deducting 10 points each time a person's cell phone goes off in class. It is very rare that it happens - once a student realizes that ten points could be the difference between a B or a C - they change their attitude about cell phones very quickly.

Know what really grinds my gears? When your sitting in the movie theater trying to watch a damn movie, and someone's cell phone started to ring, and she just let it ring and would not turn it off and so I decided to throw popcorn seeds at her head each time her cell phone rang, she finally shuts it off, pisses me off so I can see where you are coming from. My math his HORRIBLE! I HATE my math class this year in school.
