I read things like "what a waste of talent" so many times, that I want to throw in a comment here... I don't believe Amy's that her talent was wasted. She didn't produce nearly as much music as we would have liked or lived the happy life so many wanted for her. But, she did bring something fucking incredible into this world, something that will be remembered for a long time. Was that a waste? No, it was a gift. We should be grateful not greedy.

I don't remember the original article i read, but google it. There's probably a few lines of truth among the bullshit. Regardless, I believe some serious mental illness was at play. Can't just label her an addict and leave it at that. I think she just did what she was able to relieve her suffering, like we all do.
Whatever problems she may have, she is the genuine article, the real deal. The little bit at the last of the vid showcases not only her unfathomably good voice, and, to my surprise, some quite good guitar work as well:) I hope she can get into a better place with her habits someday, before it's too late...

@smurfieboo Totally agree. Performing in front of big audiences was incredibly hard on her I believe. What she says towards the end about all the adrenaline she gets from performing and needing a drink after. Later on she started drinking on stage to control it. It was just too much pressure and she lost control... like a hell of a lot of people would if they were thrown in the spotlight like that. And I think once you get sucked in so fast, so far it's nearly impossible to get out of it.

When Amy was Healthy she was a very beautiful, unique, funny and charming... as a fan of hers It's very hard to see where she ended up... very sad, she was too young :(

She had her personal issues, but she was a genuine person who didn't care what people thought. She also seems to be very sweet and caring, although sometimes perhaps unstable. Rest in peace, Amy. I hate how people make her a villain because of her problems.

@madeyes4u Apparently (never know what to believe of what they say about Amy in the media), she was diagnosed when she was younger, had a bad experience with meds and gave them up. I don't remember the original article i read, but google it. There's probably a few lines of truth among the bullshit. Regardless, I believe some serious mental illness was at play. Can't just label her an addict and leave it at that. I think she just did what she was able to relieve her suffering, like we all do.

Whatever problems she may have, she is the genuine article, the real deal. The little bit at the last of the vid showcases not only her unfathomably good voice, and, to my surprise, some quite good guitar work as well:) I hope she can get into a better place with her habits someday, before it's too late...

@smurfieboo Totally agree. Performing in front of big audiences was incredibly hard on her I believe. What she says towards the end about all the adrenaline she gets from performing and needing a drink after. Later on she started drinking on stage to control it. It was just too much pressure and she lost control... like a hell of a lot of people would if they were thrown in the spotlight like that. And I think once you get sucked in so fast, so far it's nearly impossible to get out of it.
