im sorry but i dislike double bass drum kits...im a big hi hat user, and to have my hats 2 feet away from ym snare an't gonna cut it...unless the kit had an adapter so i can put the hat pedal closest to me instead of the second pedal...i don't like it

@Jabarichonicles You can't really see it in the overhead shots in this video, but I use a Pearl HA-100 clamp to attach my hi-hat stand to my left kick drum. It's nowhere near 2 feet away from my snare.

hey, i got a question. i just started playing and i bought a pearl forum set. i also bought a mapex 10 piece. im using the pearl for right now just because im a beginner. but, what can i do to make the drums sounds more crisp? if that makes sense. also, i have all ziljian on the mapex and paiste(or whatever) on pearl, are the paiste fine?? they sounds good

@DEADMANSJOURNAL Dude why would you buy to drum kits you should just start playing on the mapex. Forums are entry level. Cymbals are all personal taste you can mix and match to make you own sound. I use paiste, sabian and zildjian's on my kit. Drum heads can make a big difference as long as you tune your drums properly.

It sounded a little strange, like heads are getting old, but it still sounded badass like a hardcore drumset from a good drummer spending a lot of time with his kit. And, could you tell what the gloves you have on do? I've been drumming for a long time myself and have never seen that before.

Protection from blisters, sweat absorption, and also they help with grip. I hate grip tape because it messes up the balance of the sticks.

good cover, but i recommend getting some new recording equipment (video is fine, audio needs some work) because i noticed that because the audio is bad the sounds of the kit kind of blend in with each other, and it's all kind of muted. i realize a good audio setup is expensive but i think if you had some good audio equipment you could make something of these drum videos, maybe a sponsor.

It's interesting how when it goes into the overhead during the slow parts, it shows how you use your right hand almost solely for cymbals and your left for the snare, only alternating occasionally. Any specific reason for that? I figured it'd be more convenient to alternate *shrug* Nice vid overall~

No specific reason, that's just a general rule when playing drums (for right-handers): the right hand primarily plays cymbals (hi-hat, ride, etc.) and the left hand primarily plays snare.

I exclusively use Zildjian 5A Dips on my acoustic kit. As for cymbals, I've found over the years that Sabians suit my taste much more than Zildjians.
