wow this video just made me realize how much miss living in mobile and that hospital that's always reminded me of spongebob because of it's unique shape that you can see from far away. great driving man! that ambulance seemed a bit on the slow side though even with the turbo
@DisturbedForever92 < WRONG. You can only be 10-8 emergent or non-emergent (i.e. code 2 or code 3) ANY activation of the emergency signal even if it's just lights only is always code three. Code one calls are calls you will be responding to later, at your convenience...you can't be 10-8 to something you're not going to yet. Once you pull a code one from your code one sheet and show 10-8 you are now code 2 (non-emergent) to that code one call.
@DisturbedForever92 < Code one= Go there later, at your convenience, code 2 =respond next-up WITH traffic (10-8 non-emergent, lights off) code 3= respond immediately, THROUGH traffic using emergency signals as needed (10-8 emergent, lights on if needed) . Now, "as needed" is important because it is possible to be code 3without the lights on. Ever see a cop blasting down the road at night?? He's code 3 but the lights are not needed or just has them off to not spook the perp.
@DisturbedForever92 < Universal sweetheart, so no need to snippy. 10-8 means "in service", whether you're starting your shift or en-route to a call, it's all 10-8. It doesn't matter if you're on the damn moon, you can only be en-route fast or slow, emergent or non emergent, emergency signals on or off. Code 2 is non emergent, without emergency signaling beacons and tones while code 3 is emergent WITH emergency lights and tone as needed. That's just the way it is honey bunch.
@gnockergnutz Like stated below, whatever you say, thanks for the kind words like honeybunch and sweetheart, but i'm not into homoerotic stuff, have a nice holiday and i don't care whatever you reply
Man, if I was a paramedic, I would be pushing that horn the whole trip! And I would hire a person that has anger management issues to hang out the window and yell at people who don't move!
when ever i see a ambulance coming 2 a busy lanes of traffic or anything else i have a green led that i use to stop or move traffic when the nedd help.
Does nobody know how to move over for an emergency vehicle there?!? More people didnt move than did. Start doing what we do. Whoever is in the Passenger seat runs the camera, and those who dont pull over we get a nice close up of their licence plate. After the run we turn the tape or memory card over to the police. Happy ticket Jerk!!! now maybe you'll pull over
@ericthesoldier The truck with the EQ2B has been sold and we now have a new truck. Just have not mounted the siren in it yet. I hopt to have some videos with the new truck soon. Stay tuned.
great videos man i would like to see more soon but one question ehy you guys love to take laft line most of the time? here in Miami ( Miami Dade Fire Rescue ) does what ever the hell they want lol they even go wrong way on 3 lanes roads most of time when they see that people arent moving.
@s5medic516 Man I hate It when people dont get out the way, like that ass hole in the beginning, he pulled the the left then came back infront of u and start hitting the brakes. It was still wrong tho. Or the cadillac u honked at.
Hey, just a question about your road traffic law over there. If a car at a red light is approached by an emergency service vehicle, are they permitted to go over the red line to get out of its way? Over here (UK), drivers are not allowed to and will still receive a ticket if they do so, which i think is a little unfair.
Yes, Professsor, if an emergency vehicle pulls in behind you, when cross-traffic has stopped for the EV, you are permitted to proceed into the intersection and cross and pull over to the right. (This gives the driver a free pass through a red signal!)
Sadly, a man was killed when hit on his left when he did the same for a fire truck.
So I always try to pass stopped traffic on their left, even if proceeding in opposing lanes - I am taking the risk/responsibility.
Often I turn off lights and siren when changing lanes to the right to exit.
Otherwise, drivers may slow as they pull over to the right, causing problems for the EV and everyonelse. (You are not speeding, therefore no lights needed. Drivers may then notice your turnsignals and understand your intentions.)
typical oregon drivers. im a sheriff cadet in oregon and code runs on i-5 suck. people that drive on that arent that smart. they never get out of the way
Nice Code 3 driving. There is no way this is in California! Your drivers actually know what to do when an emergency vehicle approaches from behind. In my area (San Francisco Bay Area), most of the "English as a second language" drivers just slam on the brakes and freeze in place. It makes for interesting observations....especially during rush hour.
its interesting to watch theese movies from us. Im a paramedic in norway, and we have so mutch less trafick, and only 2 lanes where i work. So often pressing cars in oposit lane. But its cool. Totaly different trafick picture over there. :) Would have been cool to come work there for a week to see how u guys opearte etc. :D
cool to see what the medics do, im a deputy sheriff, goin code 3 is pretty intense. if any of you would like to try it, go to your local police department and try the ride along program.
I've seen in other videos where people ask why the new rumbler siren. 1:08. This video is full of people failing to yield. Damn good driving though. I guess the commuters around you figure you turn on your siren because there's nothing on the radio. Not because it's an emergency.
fantastic man, i have watched alot of videos of you know, and i think you drive great and i take it by it you save some lives, i live in holland but really, keep going :D
that is some of the best driving I have ever seen. I know what its like when people dont move over. I followed a car for almost 2 miles while driving code 3, Bug grinder blasting, sirens cranked all the way up and he did not understand why the other 20 cars in front of him were pulling over. You showed great patience. GREAT job
i love a 2:20 when the sea of cars part for you. great vid. i also like how you use clear judgment and anticipate how the traffic will, and is reacting to you.
if you would take a moment to read the description of the video you would find out that they are not responding to anything. they are transoprting. You go ahead and drive like a maniac while I am in the back with a patient and I promise you that I will have a new partner the next day.
What is wrong with "Grounded" at :25? Moron pulls back in front of you and brakes!! Then idiot at 1:08. Nice smooth driving butoo noisy! You want to be left, but middle lane often best. Nice try getting into the lefturn lane but drivers prevented that. Use Wail. Yelp panics drivers and they don'think as well. Smart drivers at 3:10 Be silent until 3:55. At 4:05, rather than slow, do smooth right lane change. Go left into opposing lanes at 4:35 Middle lane (#2) is often best.
Hopefully the heart attack patient lived. Was the victim conscious the whole way there? or did you have to shock him with the paddles Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
I don't know what the guy was thinking in the grey pick up. Couldn't tell if he was on his cell phone or not. As for the air horns, at times all the drivers were moving over or had stopped, so I knew they knew I was there. They were being nice, so I returned the favor. lol
I am really speechless on how STUPID these drivers are. I mean I've seen a fair deal of ignorant drivers myself in Hong Kong and Beijing but, seriously?
Look at 1:07 that driver of the corolla almost smucked u. I would have personally blasted the horn and opened the windows and throw a few words at him. and what is with the pickup on the highway lol
Fantastic Video as always! The best diving I have seen in a long time! Great use of the sirens. People nowadays dont seem to know how to react to a code 3 vechile any more. Phaser and airhorn are a must for your videos!
4:25 you should of stayed left and went into wring lane and cut back right across intersection.

Hey, just a question about your road traffic law over there. If a car at a red light is approached by an emergency service vehicle, are they permitted to go over the red line to get out of its way? Over here (UK), drivers are not allowed to and will still receive a ticket if they do so, which i think is a little unfair.
Professsor 2 years ago
not sure on that.. Here they will move when the side that has the green stops.
