  • Thanks for posting this. A wonderful rendition. After all these years, this hymn still always reminds me of my two daughters' confirmation, and they're both in their 30s now.

  • this is the best song for those to spead the message of God,or follow into the ministry,we have heard the call! God bless!

  • Thanks for posting this wonderful hymn. It is one of my absolute favorites! This was one of the hymns we chose to be played at my father's funeral last Thursday.

  • This is one of my favorite hymns. I actually sang it at my Confirmation for my classmates. Your interpretation is the best I've heard. Thank you for posting this. You are a brilliant orangist and musician.

  • You're welcome and thank you for your kind words - I play what I feel. GOD Bless you †

  • awesome! these are perfect to sing to. flawless playing.

  • This is such a beautifil hymn! This was the entrance hymn that was played at my friends Mother's funeral at Christ the King Catholic Church in Omaha, NE on 10/17/10

  • As an organist, and minister of music, some songs give a tremendous message when played on the organ. It is a crying shame the organ has been removed in many non-catholic churches. Your ability and expression give a great feeling of worship to our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. Many thanks for your talents, and God bless.

  • I play th organ at my church occasionally but the problem is it's really old and held together by pretty much paper clips and cardboard( but still playable) praise be the lord

  • i mst say you play this very well ive been in alot of catholic choirs and have heard many organist play this but i love yours the most i wish i could play like you but god just didnt give me that telent so again thanks very much and keep playing the way you are your perfect

  • My name Is Monsignor O'Monynahan I'm a Father in the Roman Catholic Church.

I love the way you play your music. you put so much love into it.

  • Great talent. Please continue on posting music in U tube. You are a great inspiration to others. This music brings back memories of my son. God bless you and your famiy.

  • How great sounds the music when inspired by the Divine!

  • Thank you so much.

  • My church's choir director just passed away today. This was one of his favorite songs and your performance was beautiful. Thank you.

  • you know lance, i've watched and commented several of your videos on here....to hear you play is such a blessing and most of the time i sing along with you or i just sit and meditate in a silent worship. i too am an organist and anytime i have a hymn to play and i want to play it right i always look to your videos for guidance.

    beautiful music and wonderful blessings!

    frankie

  • I like your style Lance, you don't make it a modern approach. You still give the song some modesty but meaningful. Thanks for sharing all your videos. Really enjoy the sound of pipe. I just hope the church ORGANize its musical liturgies

  • Since we lost our organ (modernisation!) we have missed these great hymns. Somehow guitar and drums are not the same. May God Bless you richly for the joy you have brought back into our worship. Thank you

  • You're welcome.

I hear that all the time from so many of my Subscribers - what a shame. I believe if people would write letters to the Bishops of their Diocese , maybe the Organ will come back. GOD Bless you and thank you for visiting †

  • Trouble is - I'm a Baptist and we don't have Bishops!

  • There is always the Baptist Conference you can express yourself with. GOD Bless ♫

  • @Bradstonian24 I totally agree with you.....years ago my parish music director wanted to get rid of the organ and now they finally did it so now it does not sounds the same.

  • @Bradstonian24 We have an organ in our church, but for whatever reason, whether it be the music director's choice or just the fact that they can't find anyone capable of playing it regularly enough, it's hardly used, and there are certain hymns/songs where it absolutely DOES NOT work without the organ. The one in particular is "Jesus Christ is Risen, Today" on Easter. Plus the music director at our church is rather dry, and can be difficult to work with (especially if you're a youngster).

  • I just love the way you play Lance. THANKS for sharing your music. I listen to you all the time now. and it has inpired me to play the organ agan. THANK YOU. God Bless.

  • Thanks and hope to see you posting sometime on here now that you are playing again ( come on, don't be shy ).

    Lance †

  • wow this is great! i heard this song in church today and now i can't get it out of my head :) i love it

  • Wonderful

  • Just wonderful, at church they only play the big organ now at Christmas time and Easter now. So this reminds me of the very special addition this music adds to the mass.

  • In Presbyterian Hymnal 1990 Edition

  • I love this song very much I sang that at my grans funural about 2 weeks ago as she was a really good catholic she means the world 2 me:)R.I.P

  • I sometimes sing this to my patients when I'm with them. I also sing other hymns. They love it when I sing hymns for them while I'm working with them. They can no longer go to church. Seems to give them comfort as they make the transition from this life to the next.

  • Hey, would you mind doing a tutorial xD It would be soo cool to learn this song...I go to a catholic school and we have like a mass every sunday i could play this on the entry on my keyboard... but i need to learn it first :P

  • Thank you for visiting - I am only recording and posting Hymns, my teaching days are over - sorry. I am sure you can find a simplified arrangement which will help you, check with your Church Organist.

    Blessings to you †

  • yes I know its a vivace 20. As i mentioned earlier i've seen one in Mumbai India in our music store. I teach music and one of my students plays a vivace 60 in his church. He and i both really like the registration which you use. how do you get a decent sound on the visount? I've heard Ahlborn phoenix copemanhart allen , They all sound so realistic..

here in India in almost all catholic churches we play on electronice keyboards.. Of course we play hymns in different styles.

  • Great sound you get from the spinet organ. We have one in our music store but doesnt sound as good. ( vivace 20).

  • Thank you - this is a Vivace 20 Model.

  • This is not sung in just the Catholic Church. I am a Lutheran and we sing it. It is beautiful and I want it sung at my funeral.

  • Anglicans sing it too.

  • You play Catholic hymns like one who is truly of the faith. Thank you for acknowledging the beauty ofour musical tradition.

  • Hey Lance, I was wondering if you still take requests for videos. If you do, could you possibly do "Sing of Mary, pure and lowley?" That would just make my day.

    God bless, Rick †

  • God Bless you too †

  • Do You?

    -Ricky†

  • I am not Catholic, when I see my friend who is and he is an Organist in a Church, I will ask him if he can get me the music, not taking request any longer though.

  • Thanks for playing such great hymns!

I am a soloist and sinig for wedings and funerals. This is my favorite. I sang this for my Grandmothers funeral. That was the hardest thing for me to do!

  • Your welcome - such a great song for a send off to meet Jesus. Played it at my Sisters Funeral recently. Thanks for visiting - Lance †

  • nice version of this song. well done. a church i went to for a while the organist played it for the offatory hymn, and played it a little faster, and it sounded really good. then he played it a few weeks later for the opening hymn a little more faster, and it set the mass off on a good note, really upbeat. i like your version too.

  • Thanks †

  • For whatever church you play for, do you have any videos of you playing in that church with the congregation singing? I think that would be great to see if possible!

  • Lance you are truly gifted by GOD with the skill and beauty with which you play. It might surprise you that you sometimes make me cry I am so moved. I wish you could make CD's of your music I would even send a couple to use if you could record some stuff like this on them

  • Many of my Subcribers make their own CD's using a program to download the YouTube video's and convert them to MP3.

  • I wish I knew how to do this. I would love to sing with your music as my accompaniment in church!

  • I a 70, realizing that if I can re-appropriate my religiosity, it will be by way of music. I am a philosopher, but always had a secret desire to play the pipe organ. I envy you, and love the music, especially this one.

  • A wonderful hymn of ecumenical spirit: Jewish text, Catholic author, Dan Schutte, and now included in new Protestant hymnals. It was sung at Westminster Presbyterian Church (Pittsburgh) after the crash of USAir 427, and I used it during the funeral of my dear friend, Lorraine Orr, crusader for the Right to Die and the Living Will, at the Unitarian Church of Sarasota FL in 1996. The text from Genesis and Isaiah was one she by which lived. I am moved to tears every time I hear it.
