After watching Fatema's and Wen Yu's videos, i still believe that Wen Yu should've won. I didn't feel bored watching her video. Though both of them are good. It's just Wen Yu's total performance was awesome --- from her eye-catching costume to her veil and hip/belly techniques.

her dancing technique was better than 3 imo. its not about looking hot. its about how the belly and hips move. 3 had her good costume choice help her. but this one has much better belly flex/pump/loop technique.

Wen Yu was beautiful and she had a wonderful veil dance but I do agree with some of the other comments I've seen; I believe it was mostly her costume and not her talent. Don't get me wrong, she was great! But not as good as Fatema. Fatema has more difficulty in her movements.

Very nice traditional belly dancing. Even though I've seen quite a lot of comments down talking her performance and even questioning her belly dance, there are different forms of belly dancing. She shimmy's a lot which is an advanced move, which is what the competition is based on. I don't really like Fatema, but I think this performance was wonderful if you ignore the beginning. Nice Vid. This dancers veil was bad, her drum solo was great. runner up #3 was the opposite (great veil yet boring drum) this dancer smiled, and wore a professional belly dance outfit as opposed to #3,. I also think the judges would have been more infavor of this dancer as she used pure traditional bellydance music (Tahiays dance) as opposed to #3 who used an oriental elecro remix ( remix of Enta Omri) for veil. i think this dancer and #3 should have tied one as what one lacked the other made up.

I'm no expert at belly dancing but I know from a purely dance perspective:

3rd place was defo better looking, her traditional dance is not as good, fusion was the best (but maybe looks more traditional) and she didn't smile as much.

2nd place...shud hav been 3rd. 1st place is not as good looking, smiled loads, the 2nd half of her trad' was way better than the rest (she moved well with the music) and her fusion was not as good.

@ennaishi I have to agree. I would also like to add that I was initially very supportive of third, but first's dance got really amazing after 1:11. the beginning was kinda crappy so third "looked" better at first.

belly dancing maybe more then just being good at doing the moves but...just because someone can hit the beat on time (like 1st place)doesn't doesn't mean they are good (in my opinion). 3rd should have won cause i don't see any 1st and 2d accomplishing the moves that 3rd pulls off

See that?.. even tho for the majority, asian woman R not normally thick in weight, with belly dancing its much better wen u have a soft tummy. Thats the good thing about that dance. u normally only do best & LOOK best if u have some meat on your bones. Very nice video.

@One4theworld Belly dancers come in all shapes and sizes. Some women don't have natural curves, or have an athletic physic. Some women have a fast metabolism, and have trouble gaining weight. They shouldn't feel like they're less attractive, or skilled dancers just because of ignorant comments from people like you.
