Ebay now owns Paypal . Call Paypal , i did , i had them so frustrated , the Rep said sir Ebay owns Paypal and you have to ship your item out and we will hold those funds 21 days . I have a problems wih ebay. for a few months now They have threatened to take $1700.00 frOm my checking acc. Totally their fault, their crediters keep calling. I had to cancel my credit card and change my bank acc. When this all first started I tried to call for help, also going on live ebay chat help etc. and they shuffled me round to 5 or 6 differnet depts. they make it hard to resolve making people pay for it just to shut them up. I WILL NEVER PAY THEM A DIME!!!!!!!!!

That happened to me too. NEVER link PayPal to your bank account. [What they call being verified.] eBay and PayPal retain the right to tap it whenever they want, that's the only reason they want you to become verified.

I too closed a checking account that I had for 15 years because closing it was the only way to stop PayPal from taking $900 from me. [Buyer was a fraud who eventually got kicked off eBay.]

I will never give out my bank account details to anyone. There are too many crooks on the net to allow that and it's a wonder Ebay don't know that, yet they persist. I cannot get verified because of the danger in anyone knowing our bank account details. I have a very powerful search method to find stuff to buy on ebay. Before Feb 2008 I got about 30-50 pages of listings to dig through, then in march 2008 that number dropped to 2-7 pages, mostly BS listings similar to ones this video described.

In MARCH 08 Paypal started randomly holding money in limbo for 5 to 18 days then posting it as if it were there all along. I will continue to list on ebay through may, after that I should be established on alternate sites. I am a 3K+ FB powerseller.

Thankyou for posting this. Ebay was clearly padding listings to bolster the falling numbers due to the boycott. I would be they had to do it in order to prevent a stock panic.

These boycotts are made by the Ebay forum boardies. They may be more successful if the boardies were more accepting of others on the boards. They have their own little group of friends there. I saved one lister as a fovorite seller and days after the "glitch" was over, I got a couple of notices that they had new items up for auction, but as before, they were not legit auctions and couldn't be bid on. One day the truth will find its way out and this info might be quite useful.

As an ebayer who makes a few hundred dollars worth of purchases every week I will say that 'Best Match' pisses me off! I always have to manualy switch back to 'ending soonest' lest I miss the auction that is ending in 5 minutes for the one ending in 5 hours. One minor effect of 'best match' is a reward and punish system based on shipping fees. I really think that Ebay should just lower the final value % but have it cover the entire amount regardless of shipping charges both real and imaginary.

Padding the listings means that Greedbay is adding many - THOUSANDS - to show that the legitimate Sellers that have pulled their listings has had no effect....It is called Fraud.

Today Ebay removed 50 pages off one of the threads on the Ebay boards. That is the equivalent of about 2000 individual posts that Ebay decided they did not like. SO much for Ebay saying in the media they give there sellers free speech on the boards!

It means the strike did make a difference! They were padding it to make the boycotters feel like they blew it. If you had checked several normal catagories in that time, the numbers of listings did drop lowere than ever.

They are obviously running scared. Everyone and the stock people see this.

Plus, out of the 35,002 listings from this seller sdc_prod_434012 most had multiple items available anywhere from 3 items up to 144 available...Out of the many hundreds that I clicked on, most were i the 75 - 100 each available....dont these extra available items count as listings??? AND THESE ITEMS COULD NOT BE BID ON EITHER...

They say they were accidental listings from shopping dot com?????? But why on the bottom of each individual auction pages under the area Sellers Payment Instructions did it have the complete web address for spectrum super store??? Isn't this against ebay policy????

These items had been up for 8-9 days on a store type listing before being pulled, despite what ebay said, that they were up for 2 days before being discovered???....... How could that be if store listings run for 30 days??? These ebay excuses make no sense at all????? They keep contradicting themselves over and over again in their statements to the press and in ebay announcments about what really happened....

This video left me speechless. I was shocked! I feel they don't want the public to know how many seller's stop listing items. So to replace them, listed FAKE LISTINGS! Do they want the public to think they are bigger then what they really are?? Or just not show loss's to their stock holders. Makes you wonder.

I was there, I saw it. IN FACT, I still have 3 of these listings, from 2 DIFFERENT sdc usernames on my watch list! They are still showing up under watched items a WEEK after greedbay says that they "fixed" it. Hmmmmm

I saw all of this when it was happening that Friday night. I have screen shots of pages of listings from some of the 'sdc' sellers.

I have screen shots of numerous threads that were put up discussing this. There are still 'mystery' items showing up in eBay core listings. Do a general search of any category using 'ending soonest', go to the last page of listings and hit refresh a few times. Watch and see what happens.
