You got to let your spirit take control.

  • welcome to the mule. dont stop here, folks. check out anyone that ever plays with warren. good chance their band will drop yer jaw. check derek trucks, the burbrige bros., the word, north miss. allstars.

  • this may be a silly question, but did this guy play with the allman brothers band or something? he seems really familiar but I can't place him

  • @londongoth7 Yep, he started playing with them, i think, sometime in the '80s...??? Warren Haynes is da greatest, right up there with Dickie Betts, and a voice even better than Gregg Allman, imo.... :)

  • That is the GREAT Dave Schools of Widespread Panic on bass.

  • First time i heard this was 8th row indianapolis i am a huge fan now thanks jeff and amanda

  • I feel like a complete twat for not having heard this before...

  • Dave Schools??

  • Just discovered them...instant fan!

  • this incarnation after woodies death was called "gov't shools" because of david schools from widespread panic on bass.....they did one tour under this in the fall of 2001, and I saw the show in la the week after 9/11/2001, and dave grohl (nirvana, foo fighters, soul rebel) came out for the encore and sung neil's "keep on rocking in the free world".....sick

  • Joe Satriani on keyboards!? :D

  • @heliobluesrock

Helio, that be Danny Louis on Keyboards. Still with the band, and rockin it hard.

Love to hear and see Woodie on Bass, but Jurgen is the Man these days.

Great style, and really feels the vibe.

Did not get to see Woodie live, but he was and is still loved by a lot of Mule fans.

    RockinRon

  • @Rockinbluesron

Yeah, Woodie was awesome! I got crazy when I listening "Life Before Insanity" with him!

  • Everybody just kick back with a bottle of your best, roll up a fat one if you can, relax, and enjoy life!

  • Why do people argue on youtube comment walls? pointless. Just listen to the music and if you like it cool, if not go to a different video.

    Great song by the way.

  • @tigerdancing11 WELL SAID!

  • @jessica just another dumbass contrite jerk who has a tin ear and no talent and has to spew hatred and scorn when something like The Mule spreads a wealth of good through their music........that character has no respect for anything.

  • @tunataster Blow me

  • z28931 you have no idea what you're talking about... and don't bother everyone with your comments that aren't about the music.

This is an amazing song regardless of his political views.

  • @jessicaw88 I'm entitled to my opinion, just like you are entitled to yours. So piss off.

  • @z28931 I agree everyone is entitled to their own opinion... However, this is not a political forum, and it is "my opinion" that your comment belongs elsewhere. If it makes you feel better to lash out at people who have differences of opinion, go right ahead. Have a lovely day!

  • Warren is incredible. I had the pleasure of meeting him through a mutual friend backstage about a year back with my 12 yr old son who plays guitar and he was absolutely the most inspiring and gracious artist I've ever had the pleasure to come in contact with. This gentleman can play ANYTHING and make it his own. Soulshine is just an amazing piece of work....and it seems with each GM album he just gets better.

  • I really lost alot of respect for warren haynes once I found out that he supported obama. He even played at his inaugural ball. Just by listening to his music over the years I gathered that he was a great American. Well I was wrong. I was shocked to see that he wanted to vote in a president that believes in the death of our country. He wanted the anti christ voted in office. Maybe some of you learned something that you didn't know.

  • @z28931

That´s one of the most stupid things I´ve ever heard in my life

  • @Kalscheid If that's one of the stupidest things that you have ever heard in your life, then either your very young, or else you don't get out much and pay attention to what's going on in the world.

  • @z28931 wtf does that even mean...music,bro...enjoy it.

  • I remember sitting in the back seat of my grandpas truck and its 4:00 in the morning heading down to west virgina listing to this awsome stuff

  • warren should record this song with his good friend miranda louise, nashvilles queen of the blues, on vocals . great song

  • Warren Haynes HAS GOT IT, they don't make 'm like they used to...

  • Dave Schools

  • Warren Haynes has one of the greates voices out there for blues/rock. He moves you with his vocals and guitar tone at the same time. Shame he's not a bigger name other than with musicians.

  • hes just got a great voice,

very very very good job guys

you made my day exciting today

  • audios off... but Haynes is still a genius.

  • Warren Haynes looks like he could be related to the late great piano legend, Billy Powell of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • @Beicon55 Yea, Schools

  • It's a shame warren got barely ANY solo time. That's what makes this song, not the fuckin chorus......

  • @AllmanBros424 agree'd

  • is the same progression as one love by bob marley

  • When you can't find the light That got you through the cloudy days, When the stars ain't shinin' bright, You feel like you've lost your way, When those candle lights of home, Burn so very far away, Well you got to let your soul shine, Just like daddy used to say He used to say soul shine, It's better than sunshine, It's better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain. Hey now people don't mind, We all get this way sometimes, Got to let your soul shine, Shine 'till the break of day.
