  • Heat and Velocity was really good back in the day!

  • haters gonna hate

  • its crazy that daniel bryan was a nobody there now look at him hes a world champion

  • @BabyGangsta718 Bryan was never a nobody he was a superstar everywhere non WWE

  • @BabyGangsta718

Bryan was famous on ROH and all other Indy's here was in. Moron!

  • Cena with BRIGHT YELLOW PANTS, WTF

  • @narutofan4545 only 2 years later ! and stop hating and get a life !

  • i thought daniel bryan wasn't in wwe at this time. wwe is a freaking liar.

  • @venomfan3412 WWE does bring in indy wrestlers from time to time to wrestle on their smaller shows. AJ Styles has wrestled on a few televised house shows with WWE. Look on Youtube for them

  • We may see this Cena come back, if Kane bringing Cena to the dark side is not a tease and a planned thing.

  • 2002 Cena >>>> Modern Cena.

  • I'm from the future and on December 18, 2011 Brian Danielson aka Daniel Bryan has cashed in his Money In The Bank for the World Heavyweight Champion to The Big Show and won.

  • oh wow look. velocity in 03, main event in 2011.

  • Bryan Danielson went from this going back to the indy circuit coming back to WWE and becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

  • Your New World Champion people!!

  • i ddid,nt new that daniel bryan was also before in wwe'

  • john cena is such a fucking actor and a wanna be poser

  • 3:03

  • should have kept that finisher, way better than the FU

  • @Bainer55 but he still uses it.

  • We finally know why Daniel Bryan spat in John Cena's face and kicked him in the head that one night

  • Nice lightsabre one min its the like and dislike bar

  • i love cena's smile at the beggining of the match

  • 1MILLION!!!!

  • 1.55- I love it, Cena started losing the chain wrestling so he hit Danielson with a clothesline so hard he backflipped.

Kind of foreshadowing the brawling guy he became, don't you think?

  • Good match for how short it was. Dunno bout the pants....suppose at least it's different from the jorts. fuck attitude, I miss the Ruthless Aggression Era

  • Is this........WRESTLING on WWE programming?

  • @maxpower789z Yeah, could you believe that actually happened at some point?

  • @SnakeMan227 WHAAAAT?! ERNEST THE CAT MILLER WAS IN WWE AS WELL!?! HOW DID I MISS THAT THE FIRST TIME WATCHING THIS VID

  • @maxpower789z Yeah, tells you how long THAT lasted.....

  • @maxpower789z Not only that it's a decent match despite how short it is.

  • Bryan daniels Daniel Bryan wtf wwe??? God why didn't they just keep him?

  • John Cena Loves The WWE And Loves 2 Kick ASS

  • At least before the "Era Of SUPER CENA" Bryan almost whipped Cena's ass now adays bryan wouldn't even of gotten 2 seconds in on cena

  • I actually kind of liked Cena during this time, fun to watch his matches before he became marine and up.

  • It's interesting to have Danielson say that being on the ROH and independent circuit produced more revenue than being on the undercard in WWE. Does that amount include his merchandise sales during intermissions or just straight paydays?

  • fuck u all cena haters

  • @omkaar786 Bryan > Cena

but back in this time he was kind of cool.

  • 0:50 - 0:57 . that looked like it hurt... also cena said the f word

  • Heel Cena!!! loving it!!! At the time WWF was saying this Danielson kid is too small....Funny and sad how things have changed.

  • Cena sucks

  • Everything wrestling should be vs. everything wrestling shouldn't be.

  • @AxelCutlass Everything Cena is, is what allows guys like Danielson the ability to make big money. Without guys like Hogan, Rock, Cena, guys like Danielson are performing for 300 people in a high school gym. Now, I mean no disrespect as I LOVE LOVE LOVE what guys like Danielson and AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels do, but with all that said, the Cena's and Hogan's of the wrestling world are the main reason wrestling is as big as it is.

  • @RevAIDGnarl True enough, guys like Hogan and Cena make wrestling popular, but for the wrong reason. They were good for marketing, but they are the epitome of superstars, not wrestlers. This is exactly why the Cena/Punk feud was so brilliant because it addressed that. Even without Hogan or Cena, guys like Danielson, Styles, Daniels, Samoa Joe, Low Ki would have one day become big enough to sell out huge arenas. More people want to see wrestling, not big guys doing a total of eight moves.

  • @RevAIDGnarl But it doesn't have to be that way. You're making it sound like good wrestling and good showmanship cannot coexist in the same person. HBK, Flair or Jericho and Austin were much more entertaining than Hogan and Cena. It's all about how WWE promotes people. They didn't promote Punk at first so he didn't draw. He's allowed to promote himself as a last resort and suddenly he's the biggest star WWE had since the Attitude era....

  • @Wurzelknecht As much as I like Punk, he isn't even close to being "the biggest star WWE had since the Attitude Era". Cena is, and although the spotlight is currently on Punk, guys like Orton, HHH and the Undertaker are bigger stars than him as well. If (and that's a big if) given the chance and if he capitalizes on his opportunities, Punk could be the biggest star since the Attitude Era, but that seems unlikely to me.

  • @gaatakek Alright that was an exaggeration I admit. But I stand by what I said, that the reason why guys like Cena are the bigger stars is not that they're just more entertaining by default, but it's the marketing of WWE that WANTS to make them more entertaining than other guys. I recently heard that Daniel Bryan was voted off of NXT back then, because Vince feared, that in the Finals (which were not rigged) fans could choose him over Barrett who Vince liked better because he's big

  • @gaatakek Man, it's not even really up to Punk how he "capitalizes on his opportunities". It's who the company wants to PUSH and make money off of. In something that is scripted you can only do but so much. Punk can work his ass off in the ring, don't botch anything, have great moves, sell his opponent's moves just right, and talk good on the mic, but in the END it boils down to who the company wants.

  • @docdoom187 I agree that who the higher-ups get behind matters more than anything else, but capitalizing on opportunities and taking matters into your own hands does matter a little in my opinion. Over the years, WWE has pushed a lot of guys who the audience simply didn't get behind, and on the other hand, they've not pushed some guys who were very over.

  • @gaatakek How exactly does someone take matters into their own hands?

  • @RevAIDGnarl ...and if that would happen more often, I mean if more guys on WWE were allowed to show their talent both in the ring and on the mic, wwe wouldn't need guys like Cena as poster-boys. It's not that WWE doesn't have talented guys who also can talk and be entertaining, it's just that they don't WANT them to show their talent so they can continue to push guys who look like Vince wants wrestlers to look and especially to push guys THEY created instead of guys who already have fans.

  • @Jartarf I was being sarcastic dude. I knew Danielsons career way before even this time of his wwe jobber career.

  • this was when wrestling was my life

  • Two things I got from the video:

    1. Daniel Bryan wrestled in WWE way before his official debut

    2. The next color John Cena will be wearing after elmo red

  • Wow can't believe Daniel Bryan wrestled John Cena that looooongggggg... I mean, only if Daniel Bryan would have won that match instead.

  • Comment removed

  • calling it cena's next fruity pebble shirt

  • Bryan Danielson looks a lot like Daniel Bryan. Hmm, off to wikipedia.

  • Poor bryan, give him a try out and they give him a young cena.

  • They had a nice little match here and maybe its for the best WWE didnt sign Danielson here , he just got better staying on the indies

  • Yellow Pants > Jorts

  • Bryan carried cena for 4 mins

  • @fuhfuhfresh Bull shit, they are both good wrestlers, At least this cena was

  • @TakeMeHomeTonightTV So clothesline, clothesline, double axe hammer, then Protobomb makes a good wrestler? Dude, Cena has ALWAYS sucked. His OVW matches sucked, UPW matches sucked, and he sucks so much more now. Danielson makes wrestling look like a science rather than an art form or the big circus act that Cena embodies.

  • the fuck is cena wearing...

  • @Slantdude Yeah, Cena used to wear that to the ring for a bit. Lmao.

  • wow they had a tryout match between those two and they fucking picked John Cena over him

  • @physicalgrafiti12345 its all about the looks dude

  • @physicalgrafiti12345 Cena was already wrestling a year in WWE before this. It was just Bryan's tryout.

  • @physicalgrafiti12345 This was a year after Cena's debut on the SmackDown roster.

  • daniel bryan wtf ?????????????????//////

  • This was probably a blessing in disguise, D-Bry ended up goinng around the world and honing his skills becoming the best technical wrestler on the planet.

  • LoL 8 years later and this retard with yellow pants is WWE champ

  • @narutofan4545 I guess that's the way it is sometimes. I mean, looking at The Rock's stupid haircut and wrestling gear during his WWE debut at Survivor Series 1996, how many of us predicted that he'd be one of the three biggest stars in wrestling history along with Austin and Hogan?

  • so cena faced daniel bryan????

  • @123khankashif Yup.

  • You can say about Cena whatever you want but he had no problem doing chain wrestling or slugging it out with Bryan... even 8 years ago. He might not do fancy shit like most guys on the indys but he's still a very good wrestler.

  • Hmm. Hadn't been all that far from when he was 'Prototype' at this point in his career. Both guys have come a long way.

  • Years Later He Choke Justin Robert with his Tie & Spit Cena in the Face.

  • hahahaha no wonder why cena used to be on a C show like Velocity in 2003 because back then promoters like Paul Heyman had sense how much he suck... and Brian Danielson back then was really a 'Rookie' so it's fine from him to be over there but ROFL on Cena he the Chump on Velocity..!!!

  • @navieedful Cena was on a show like velocity because it was a satellite smackdown show. plus he was just starting in WWE himself. i think 2003 was his wwe rookie year

  • SpongeCena Bananapants

  • Daniel Bryan Kendrick

    LMFAO

  • Dear God, John...those pants

  • Comment removed

  • Never knew Daniel Bryan / Bryan Danielson was even on the WWE back then...

  • @PSPlaytime i laughed my ass off when they brought him on NXT calling him a rookie lol the same goes with sheamus and all the other NXT rookies i was watching them in FCW for years lol

  • @PSPlaytime i was still in college that ime^^ i still remember

  • Cena... doing the same moves for 8 years+ now.

  • Typical John Cena. He sold that arm for about 4 seconds.

  • They let him use his REGULAR name here, but in NXT and his official wwe career, he's gotta be called "Bryan Danielson"? Why?? Fucking ridiculous

  • I mean "Daniel Bryan"

  • Why didn't WWE offer him a full-time career around THAT time?? He obviously had talent, and only a moron couldn't see that! Yet the had to go BACK to ROH for years on end and then do this NXT bullshit just to get fired and THEN, after like 3 or 4 months, FINALLY get an official WWE career and a push only after his fans went nuts.

  • he*

  • @whoo689

They did. He chose the indies as it would pay him more than if he had signed with WWE. Remember, Danielson was still a new guy with talent then but not the best in the world as he would become in ROH.

  • @whoo689 well danielson requested to be on NXT & FCW to work off ring rust i don't think it was the fans that brought him back he was never really fired i mean each indie show he did he put over how great the wwe was now finally he's getting some respect he the mitb winniner hopefully will main event mania

  • nigga bad on commentary little smackdown commentator got nothing

  • Matching yellow shoes!

  • wiki says nothing about daniel bryan being in the wwe at this time

  • @TairyMrHesticles He wasn't. Indy guys do jobs in little matches all the time. Gets em a little extra cash and a shot at impressing the big leaguers.

  • YOU ARE NOT BETTER THAN ME :P

  • OMG its Daniel Bryan!!!

  • is that realy daniel bryan? O>O

  • @rspinoy2 yes!

  • The Rock: ...coming out here looking like a homeless Power Ranger!

  • I'm guessing before Bart Simpson orange, Barney purple and elmo red, there was spongebob yellow

  • yellow pants and yellow shoes

  • what is with the yellow pants! O_o

  • this i proof that cena can wrestle better the he does now. VINCE GAVE HIM THE 5 MOVES OF DOOM. not his fault. PS. D BRYAN IS A BEAST.

  • I seriously think 03 was the best era of after draft split Smackdown. The great undercard, and the actual existence Velocity just made it better.

  • John Cena mustve left his bag at the airport.....and we all know who the TRUE winner of the match is. *cough Bryan Danielson *cough

  • the quintessential wigger

  • Those pants were white when John Cena bought them, until Cena realized he was going to get his fucking head kicked in. :D

  • WOW THATS WAS BACK WHEN JOHN CENA WAS ENTERTAINING!!

  • MR MONEY IN THE BANK

  • i forgot the cat was a color comentator

    Somebody better call my momma!!!

  • This should be the main event for WM28

  • Is this Cena before he took roids?

  • @ShaunTumbleWeedGreen Must be. He looks 20 kg lighter back then at least.

  • What happened to Velocity and Heat?

  • wow never knew daniel bryan was around this long

  • whas this the same american dragon that wrestle in japan against tiger mask ?

  • this was when john cena was a good wrestler!

  • @bethwwe1 john cena has always been a good wrestler! if he was not good, he wouldn't be a 10-Time WWE Champion...but we all hate his Superman gimmick...that is what sux

  • Danielson or Mr, Kennedy should be were Cena is

  • @STAMATIOSmcmgfan mr kennedy is a pompous arrogant douchebag whos ego will get in the way of him being overly sucessful every time the opportunity is presented to him

  • @M3T4LL1C4XxXRK0 they pay him for that

  • @M3T4LL1C4XxXRK0 Fuckin Kenny himself was a total dick to me on twitter. :O He jumped in on something that he didnt even know the full story on. :\ I used to think he was kinda kool. He truly is..... an asshole. -__-

  • @M3T4LL1C4XxXRK0 No, he's not a douche. HE'S AN ASSHOLE!!!!......(WAIT FOR IT)..........ASSHOLE!

  • @M3T4LL1C4XxXRK0 Actually, injuries did most of it.

  • @STAMATIOSmcmgfan Lol The WWE Would never Make that Injury Prone hick their Main Guy

and Form the looks of it Neither will TNA

  • I want the old Cena back

  • wrestling stink. they exposed too much of the industry and the internet hurt it with all the spoilers. after the finally admitted wrestling was fake and let everyone in on the terms like babyface, heel, kayfabe and blading. a magician is no longer appealing if he shows you how he does all his tricks.

  • @TheShootTruth10

It wasn't long after I started watching wrestling when I was younger that I realised myself that it was scripted. Please don't call wrestling fake, it's scripted. It's just ignorant calling it that. If you had to call it fake then it would be a percentage of roughly, 20% fake - 80% scripted. It's about storylines (not present wwe's strong point) and athleticism. In my opinion a lot of people fall short by watching it for competitive fights, which is not what wrestling is about.

  • @TheShootTruth10 Penn and Teller reveal everything and are some of the best magicians in the world. You have to look at it from the right point of view. Yes the outcomes are scripted. It doesn't take away from the athleticism. We all know the Harlem Globetrotters are going to beat the Washington Generals every game. It doesn't make it any less entertaining to watch.

  • WWE attendance is dropping, their ratings are gradually declining, and their stock is plummeting. NO ONE in this company is drawing money.

  • @Fredster2114 they are mad because wrestling is not like it was when they were kids.

  • @TheShootTruth10 that is true Some Adults just need to accept that this isnt their Wrestling anymore this is for a brand new generation of Kids who will Tell their kids about Guys like Cena Daniel Bryan Randy Orton those r the Guys looking up to how Kids of the 90's looked up to the Rock And Austin theres TNA and YouTube for thsoe who can't move on and accept the Wrestling the way it is now

  • He should do that spinning spinebuster instead of the stupid sit-out powerbomb he does now. That move actually looks convincing... he just does the F-U for the crowd pop.

Show this to anyone who says Cena's "never had a good match" or "can't wrestle." Though it was short, I think it proves the point. Just an awfully booked finish. SMH @WWE

  • Boy, that guy looks just like Daniel Bryan...sarcasm of course

  • Cena is the best

  • Thats Daniel O Brien in 2003 with John CENA wow , John cena is a Ass Kisser of Mcmahon

  • thats daniel bryan now wtf

  • Ah, yes, John Cena's identity crisis period in 2002-2003. How I wish he never got overpushed in 2005. Then again, there weren't any main event superstars back then except for him, Batista, DX, Edge (as a heel), RVD (before he got suspended for crack) and a younger CM Punk in ECW.

  • Now this is gay cena would never beat danielson

  • Did anybody notice thats Josh Mathews at 0:00

  • @Romeydaking119 Yeah, so?

  • @MultiPring i didnt even know that was him lol

  • @Romeydaking119 yep that's him.

  • @Faustviiirocks2009 Sorry I wanted to vote down @GoldenJumper572 dumbass comment

  • Cena's yellow pants are a cryptic way of foreshadowing his future "fruity pebbles" gimmick

  • @JohnUCantSeeMeCena They have gotten incredibly over in the promotions willing to give them a push, also known as the entire independent wrestling circuit. John Cena is over because he has Vince McMahon's fat wallet pushing him constantly on national television, and he uses that opportunity to constantly pander to the fans, instead of cut decent promos. Nothing about John Cena is better than Bryan Danielson or Tyler Black, he's just got Vince McMahon's new age Hulk Hogan push.

  • @Xeon636 The Hulk Hogan push but with lower buyrates.

  • Cena wore pants? I wonder if R-Truth will start wearing shorts...

  • LOL THE CAT

  • @sturbatio Damn, he was a giant fail in the 2004 Royal Rumble.

  • If this match was 8 years later, it would be John Cena vs Daniel Bryan.

  • Hey Cena April O'neil wants her pants back.

  • @SuperKeith00 I lol'd at that...

  • @SuperKeith00 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!! Stupid banana raincoat wearin' bitch. (watch angry nintendo nerd's ninja turtles review for that reference, lol)

  • @SuperKeith00 LMAO GOOD CALL

  • Cena use to be so great on the mic and in the ring. The guy has lost all his passion for wrestling and don't give me that bullshit about how he participates in charities and do all these appearances because most wrestling fans can give a flying fuck about the media, we care about what the guy does in the ring and for the past few yrs majority of Cena ppv main event matches have been the worst matches ever witnessed on a ppv card except for the opponents who could carry him in a match.

  • hahaha cena on velocity..long long long time ago..

  • I had no idea bryan was on wwe before

  • yes people, john cena was actually cool back then

  • John Cena, the Doctor of Thugonomics!!

  • Well know i cant believe Bryan Daniels didnt win NXT! He had the most experience!!

  • WWE politics suck.

  • I don't hate Cena, and I accept that he's a decent person who is only doing his job, but to call him a wrestler is an insult to all the others who actually could wrestle.

I've seen Danielson's matches with Samoa Joe, Homicide, Jushin Thunder Liger, KENTA, Takeshi Morishima(Match of the Year 2007), Naomichi Marufuji, Go Shiozaki, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Nigel McGuinness, Austin Aries, etc. He is an incredible wrestler, and Cena cannot be compared to him in that field.

  • @CMY187 How is it an insult? If you can call Triple H, Mark Henry, Rikishi, The Rock, SCSA, Randy Orton, Christian, Sheamus, and damn near any other superstar.. all "wrestlers" then you can call Cena one too. Fair enough he's not as talented as a select few, but doesn't stop him being great at what he does, and his heart & determenation isn't matched by anyone in the wrestling business today.

  • @ImIncapable About those other guys you named, yes, I don't call them wrestlers either. They're sports entertainers; perfect for assholes like Vince Russo.

I no longer follow WWE or TNA. ROH is the only US wrestling company that actually focuses on the wrestling. Sports entertainment is drowning out the actual wrestling action inside the ring, and Cena is a prime example of that.

Imagine going to a football game and seeing 5 minutes of football in a 3 hour game. This is why I only watch ROH.

  • @CMY187 Cena's not a prime example of that, WWE is. You can't blame the face of the company because of what the company are making him out to be, that's just being narrow minded and ignorant.

ROH would do the same thing that TNA did, get a decent fan following, then start pushing merchandise and implicating storylines, they all get too greedy for there own good, which says more about Americans then the Sports Entertainment industry. It's the same with everything over that side of the pond.

  • @ImIncapable I understand what you said, and I'll say this about Cena: he tries really hard, he goes on overseas tours, etc, to help his company but in the name of the lord, he Just. Can't. Wrestle. This is why the Hammerstein Ballroom (location of Samoa Joe vs Kenta Kobashi, 2005) crowd hated him so much; they do not respect him as a wrestler. Still, at least Cena's not an asshole like HHH.

Also, I hope that Ring Of Honor does not sell out like TNA did. May that never happen.
