  • Love that you included the shorts at the beginning! I had this exact same thing on tape for years!

  • LOVEEEEE and i'm subbing thanks for posting this!

  • i still have the VHS taped. I cant believe so many people taped this. awesome

  • Comment removed

  • amazing! this is the exact same tv airing i watched back int he days and recorded...the tape it was recorded on now lost/obsolete thk you:)

  • Timeless

  • i used to love this when i was little. i remember my mom "taped" it off the tv and we watched it every year!

  • RIP Wayne Allwine

  • i remember this intro - welcome back good disney

  • man thanks for uploading this, this and blue toes were on a tape and its unwatchable now, too many fuzz and static

  • I've uploaded the TV exclusive footage of when Mickey's Christmas Carol appeared on CBS, one year between 1993 and 1998.

  • My mom recorded this me on BETA, if anyone even knows what that is. lol Totally love this special. Was pissed when my 4 year old brother played around with the BETA max (old VCR kinda) and erased it. Haven't seen it for over 15 years. Thank you!!!

  • @SpiderAdvocate Know that pain.I got 101 Dalmations VHS for Christmas one year(might have been '92)and my nephew, who was only about a year old at the time, spilled juice on it on it and wrecked it!I have the DVD now,of course, but still....:(

  • Hello! I'm Michael Eisner and welcome to The Magical World of Disney!

Hello! I'm Lord Farquaad and welcome to my perfect world of Dulac!

  • Actually these characters are readily available for kids these days in "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse." It's on every weekday at least twice. Weird that your kid hasn't seen these characters anywhere by the time she's four. Get cable!

  • I think I had the same thing recorded for me

  • ty so much for posting this.. i loved this when i was little i waited for it every christmas and now my 2 year old daughter is a hudge mickey mouse fan.... somethings you just cant give up..... do they ever play it on tv any more and if i wanted to buy this were can i go?

  • disney is a piece of crap now because of all the stupid shows they air now. i really wish they put the old disney up like micky mouse christmas carol and all the oldies

  • @extremedude1234 A lot of the kids are forgetting who the originally Disney characters wer.

  • I've always loved and remembered this whole special. I especially enjoyed Donald's little scuffle with his nephews here.

And today, I have three nephews, triplets! All at least ten years old!

  • Dear Michael Eisner, you kind of runied Disney. Please make it the way it used to be again. Thanks.

  • Thanks for keeping the original intro and not editing it out ... it's half the fun of home taped Christmas specials ... it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside:)

  • 80s / 90s <3

  • Only place it snows in Southern California is Anaheim... ;D

  • It's so sad, my 4 year old daughter is watching this over my shoulder and she sees Goofy and Donald and asked me, "Mommy who are they?" :( Walt Disney would weep at what has become of his beloved company....

  • @ruadhrose It's up to you to expose your children to the shorts and feature films that made Disney famous. These characters aren't front-and-center on TV anymore, and when they are it's in an extremely whitewashed, corporate-friendly fashion. Look into acquiring the Disney Treasures DVD sets.

  • @DTVzone What you said to Ruadhouse is 100% correct. My kids see old school Care Bears movies, Live action Ninja Turtles Movies, Chimpmunks Christmas Carol and stuff like this too.

  • @ruadhrose but Goofy and Donald are on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My nieces and nephews know who they are.

  • @ruadhrose That's why if/when I ever decide to reproduce, my kids will only be exposed to old Nickelodeon and Disney shows. And old Sesame Street. Before they started shoving Spanish lessons down our throats.

  • @ruadhrose

What? They only know Hannah Montana now? HAHA

  • @ruadhrose I literally almost shed a tear reading this, I hope you followed what DTVzone said, because it's virtually the only way you'd get to see disney's full, uncut shorts these days, the way Walt Disney himself intended. Though I'm honestly still surprised that your daughter doesn't recognize the characters in the least bit, unless you don't get Disney Channel, because I'd imagine at her age she'd be watching the preschool block where Mickey Mouse Clubhouse always comes on.

  • @ruadhrose I think our generation was really lucky to be exposed to the cartoons/shows like this. Some of the shows on TV now I can't see people coming back and watching as adults... the quality has really gone down.

  • WOW this reallt took me back, I used to look forward to these when I was little and we only had like 3 channels. Makes me sound old but I'm only 29,we lived in the country. LOL!!

  • @bree95zzy

I know what you mean. We had 2channels and I used to wait for this to air =) And I'm only 24, haha

  • Think this is the original. If you pay attention. It says Walt Disney Pictures while others Say Walt Disney Productions.

  • Wow flashback! I loved this growing up!

  • sorry if i ruined it but not all kids have the luxury of disney, santa, cookies, trees, food...

  • I *LOVE* how this video begins with VCR fuzz and warbly audio. Sad to think we'll never see anything "taped" from television do this any more.

  • THANK YOU! I once had a tape of this special, but I ran that tape to the ground and I thought I never thought I'd see this special again thank you for uploading a bit of my childhood.

  • I have been looking for this for SO LONG. THANK YOU for uploading!

  • I still have this recorded on VHS.

  • Dude, I REMEMBER That opening! And what's weird is that in 1989, I was only 1 year old! I DO remember the cartoons, though, probably because I saw them multiple times, and also I remember Michael Eisner opening the Magical World of Disney every time. I remember when I DIDN'T use to cringe at the thought of Michael Eisner and Disney...

  • That sounded like Clarence Nash narrating as Donald, but wasn't he dead already.

  • I remember the intro so well!

  • I had this recorded on VHS when the final segment aired was about Oliver and Company, which was the Disney animated film released right before The Little Mermaid.

  • i never knew what donald said and i still dont

  • I used to watch this show although I did not know enough English at that time. I was at Elementary in Juarez, Mex. The good thing is that I went to Disneyland on summer of 1991

  • Would've been better without Eisner at the beginning; talk about hypocracy with him talking about Scrooge.

Still thanks for the memories, Merry Christmas everyone.

  • I remember watching this in the Disney anniversary movie/video.

  • Why dont they put this back on T.V. anymore!! when i watch this i feel vry christmasy and happy i miss this stuff!

  • Oh my gosh! I think I remember this from my childhood! Holy cow, does this take me back...

  • I have this! I recorded it in December 1989.

  • I'm trying to look for the Wonderful World of Disney Christmas that aired in 1994 with Mickey's Christmas Carol. Anyone know where I can find it?

  • this wasn't where they had the sneak peek of Nightmare Before Christmas after it, was it? Or am I thinking of something different? Because I have that one on tape. Just unearthed it a few weeks ago.

  • oh, and I was replying to imagineerboi, in case this doesn't show up right.

  • @mcrfreek89

No, that was 1993 I believe. You could still post it though, it would still be cool to see. :)

  • The re-airing from 1993 had the behind-the-scenes look at The Nightmare Before Christmas.

  • Thanks for posting , I feel 10 again just watching this.

  • i love disney christmas!

  • have this movie :P !!

  • a "Christmas Carol" by disney is better than the new one! the new one is boring!

  • this really takes me back, one of the earliest cartoons i remember

  • I think I saw this on the disney channel way back when

  • My dad would get us together to watch this every year when I was a kid. I just turned 30 and watched it tonight with my son for the 1st time. Timeless, I love it.

  • 20 Years Later!!!!

  • i love this movie! i know all the words!!

  • We taped this when I was 5, wonderful!

  • OMG I remember when they aired this in '89 I was 4, I can't believe I remember watching this! That's crazy, thanks:))

  • This is the exact same version of this I had when I was growing up! Unbelievable.

  • It's in part 5.

  • i saw the new disneys a christmas carol in theaters and it was actually kinda scary lol

  • Damn Disney before that crazy bitch cyrus and the stupid jonas brothers

  • yes

  • LOL!!!!

When Donald sneezes and then stares at it weird :) 7:39

  • WOW, that intro takes me back!

    Thanks for posting this!

  • Oh, man, I remember this Magical World of Disney opening like the back of my hand. <3

  • YES!! I have been looking for this forever!! Does anyone know where to get it all on DVD or anything?

  • I found it at Target for $13

  • If you live in the U.s., it's available on dvd now! :)

  • Is there a DVD version with the Donald duck short on it? Mine has Small One and Pluto's Tree...

  • i love this (:

  • I use to watch this every year on CBC when I was a kid.

  • I used to think that the building in MGM was this building in my town that looks like that.

  • LOL I TOTALLY REMEMBER THAT INTRO!! with the compass and stuff.

  • Love it. Though it would b nice if it had subtitles so u can know what theyre saying. Oh well

  • i just saw Disney's Christmas Carol in theaters, really good, and also a little scary

  • you gotta love the old disney, not the new disney crap they have now

  • Agreed. Classic Disney's the one.

  • i sawe the new one so awsome

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this! I used to have this broadcast in my collection, but I watched it so often that the tape turned to dust before 1992. It's pretty scary how I still have the introductions burned verbatim into my mind.

  • Ah... Huey, Dewey, and Louie... the three little banes of Donald's existance! XD

  • Nobody does it like Disney! This was and is still my favorite every year!!!! It wouldn't be christmas if i didn't watch this and now i watch it with my kids!!! Love it.

  • wow I haven't seen that opening since flight of teh navigater! The memories it brings back! I feel old and young at the same time

  • 3:46 - well, what do you know, actual footage of ROTFLMAO.

  • oh my classic disney! you don't see this now a day.... disney really make my childhood

  • I gotta say, this is probably the best thing I've found on youtube ever, with no hyperbole on my part.

My family is huge on watching these specials every year and one of our favorite was this line up, with these three cartoons. For the longest time, they stopped playing these three in a row so this is great to see.

  • omg I LOVE THIS MOVIE THANKS FOR THE POST!! :)

  • Who says you can't like all of the above? I'm a big fan of anime, video games, and old Disney cartoons! And I know I'm not the only one or else Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be so popular!

  • I was nine yrs. old when this came out and it was my fav. disney cartoon. Good times lol

  • wow.

  • oh the memories

  • disney is nothing like it was when I waas growing up

this opening made me cry, i remembver it so well!

    the electric light parade! *weep*

  • This was what made me appreciate the real story so much. I love how Disney makes it understandable to the youth. :)

  • I was just a newborn when this was shown on TV!

  • To see where Charles Dickens came up with a "Christmas Carol", see the movie "The Ghosts of Dickens Past" It will move you.

  • In Memory Of:

    Wayne Allwine

    (1947-2009)

    plus I remember this chirstmas

special on The Disney Channel in 1992.

(although Disney's Aladdin was made in

    that year.)

  • Wow I remember watching this special when I was like 5 years old......

    I love this, Thank You

  • i really miss the old cartoon when we were little they were the best ever. i really miss the older disney stuff.

  • ah the nostalgia, i remember watchin this when i was a kid

  • Dude, I saw this... the very same 3 cartoons, the same Eisner intro (albeit edited), and everything else.... except it had that "Wonderful World of Disney/A Disney Special" intro from '92! It was on CBS!

    I'm not nuts!

  • They aired this special several times, the only difference being some of the cartoons before "Mickey's Christmas Carol" and the movie they were promoting in the final segment. In '92, they would've been promoting Aladdin.

  • Well, at the end it was promoting "The Nightmare Before Christmas". So it might've been '93.

  • The show's starting music is awesome! It reminds me of the 1980's music! :)

  • AGREED

  • Yea and maniacs cause people aren't censoring them unlike 4kids

  • Love those old cartoons! I grew up watching them every Christmas. Wonder why they never play them anymore?

  • because now is another time...emo kids...want naruto and other ugly cartoons!damn the old cartoons ar the best

  • the Disney channel really did seen like something special and magical back then and now it's just annoying with stupid shows like Hannah Montana and other crap. So sad how t.v has changed for the worst. Instead of progressing it's back tracking.

  • after one saturday morning, it got unwatchable

  • We should start a petition. Or instead of having 4 channels playing the same stuff they should have a Classic Disney Channel. I have the happiest memories from those days

  • Yes, replete with the Raccoons, Avonlea, DuckTales, etc. Two of those shows can be found on my channel!

  • I never understood just why Disney, the long-held pinnacle of animation (seriously, their reputation is so big that some people believe all animated films are by Disney... and even slapping 'Disney' on some films, even if they aren't made by them, makes people give them higher ratings even if they were made by Warner Bros originally or by other people). Now I see cartoons that make me feel retarded or just make me want to puke at the disgustingly drawn characters.

  • Did I see Ernest P. Worrell (Jim Varney) at 1:06?

  • Yeah, that's a clip from "Ernest Goes To Camp".

  • @carlitosbug Touchstone had the Ernest movies, and Touchstone is owned by Disney.

  • I haven't seen this for 19 years same with mickey's prince & the proper thank for the upload DTVzone :) 5/5

  • prince and the pauper

  • Second. Thank you DTV for making Christmas fun one last time.

  • i remember this all too well. my parents had this taped on vhs for my brother and me when we were little, and we would watch it every christmas. tv isn't what is used to be!

  • are you my brother, eric? me too.

  • what happend to goofy skiing? that was like the funniest one cause he didnt talk in it at all

  • They changed up the contents of this special every year. The version with Goofy aired in '86.

  • they have phineas and ferb only 1 cartoon

  • This video has a special place in my heart because this was the FIRST video my parents taped in 1986 with our Zenith VCR! I wish I was able to preserve this movie on DVD because I still bring out the old tape every Christmas! The version I have also has Goofy's best Christmas memory skiing. Good times!

  • How fun. The very first we ever taped was the DTV Valentine's special, followed immediately by the Sword in the Stone :)

  • My mom still has this exact version on VHS. Seriously, why did they have to stop this and start showing all the Miley Cyrus and Raven crap? Do they even show cartoons on the Disney channel anymore??

  • i dont think they still do as disney has gone to crap...man this video brings back good memorys

  • i wish i saw this when it was out i love disney =D i only 13 so i havn't seen the good stuff yet.

  • It´s kinda stupid at the start ! LOL

  • Does that even look like Donald at the end when he's frozen in the water spurt

  • cool, like it!

  • thanks for putting this up... i like old disney stuff not like this miley cyrus shit they have now.. when i have kids i'll make sure to show them the old disney stuff!!

  • Too right, I grew up on this shit ^^ and I can't get enough of it :)

  • likewise

  • Wow! It's like you stole the beta tape from my shelf and put it on youtube!

  • They are ants michael, they are ants lol

  • I still have this on tape, though I taped it in '88. It has the making of Oliver & Company instead of the Little Mermaid on it, as well as a different opening theme to the Magical World of Disney (I can't describe it well, but it's the one that's on the Mickey's 60th Birthday vid).

  • That's the one I had :)

  • I used to have this exact copy. But I lost the tape. :(

  • Thank you for uploading these videos.

  • I have this on tape too, but it starts in the middle of the Christmasey cartoons.

  • aaaa takes me back
