I always liked Steve Morse, specially when he was in Dixie Dregs. But if Blackmore went to the stage, took his pants off and literally shitted on his guitar, event that would be more charismatic than the best possible live appearance from Steve Morse.

Why all this bickering ? they are both excellent guitar players and if you asked them they would compliment each other's playing. Obviously Ritchie wrote the song and is great for doing that and other people can play it , it does not take from that, so quit arguing like a bunch of Junior high kids ........GROW FUCKING UP !

first of all, i love rb. he is truely a special guitarist. passion and depth... one of a kind. and then there is steve morse. in my opinion, the cleanest, most original, unrivaled guitarist in the world. for an added bonus, it is hard to say that anyone out there could touch his speed. (sure that will draw some comments) he is so fast with a fill that you don't realize that it's there until you have heard it a few times. my estimation; morse is the best living guitarist. (my experience= 34 yrs)

Well I personally met Steve, and he's a great guy, and one of the most talented guitar players I ever seen! I think its cool he's carrying on the purple legacy! No he's not Ritchie, But just as good in his own relm, but he still jams!!

i met him too the bouncers or roady guys refused to let us see or talk to him after a show in the 90's, but some how Steve found out that we would't leave until we met him he came out and shook our hand and stuck around to talk to us, he is a very small guy about 5 foot 2 and that might be a stretch but built like an early Kirk Douglas, One of the finer times to remember
