  • @jas0nv00r33s check out Murderface Bass solo

  • One of the rare expert village videos that doesn't suck

  • I will never pay for a set up again... thanks!

  • hey Pierbruv fender mexican is your dream bass my dream bass is a fender 70 reissue :D

  • He sounds like Mr. Rodgers.

  • wow an actuall decent expert village video

  • @KincaidBass I know, astounding isn't it?

  • @KincaidBass except this stuff is pretty common sense so...

  • cheers for the tips! it amazing how much better this has made my bass sound :)

  • @genaralgrievous to sense when a string is vibrating via magnetism which is sent as an electrical signal to an amplifier which controls a speaker which in turn reproduces the same sound that the string is making. no pickups, no sound.

  • @Pierbruv I have one, but in lake placid blue with a mirror pickguard :D

  • thanks mate! very valuable info!

  • ok im going to sound like an idiot but idc cu im knew and dont want to get screwed tring to buy a bass...what brand is tht guitar? is it silvertone?

  • @valorsora1oo It's a Fender Precision Bass

  • @valorsora1oo dude buy a Squier bass. there just as quality as any bass out there, and half the price! i got a used one at a pawn shop 12 years ago and never had a problem

  • @hairmonster12 Yes, but it's a squire..

  • @MarkWrestldAbearOnce It's actually an accepted method used by many pros. If you use your ears, you can hear a change in the amount of distortion when he gets to the E string. Human hearing is relative, whereas distortion is absolute. Well-balanced pickups will produce the same signal level (voltage) into the fuzz and in turn the same amount of distortion out of the fuzz. If one string is louder/softer than the rest, it's easier to detect the difference with the distortion than without.

  • @mcmillansabq Cool stuff, my apologies. Nonetheless, Expert Village does often make some low quality videos, many of which that tend to be untruthful to the topic at hand.

  • @MarkWrestldAbearOnce That very well may be. There is a lot of information missing in this video. While it's generally less problematic on a Pbass, the magnets can pull the strings out of tune and create strange harmonic effects if the strings get to close. It's more prominent on Jazz basses and other multi-pickup instruments. Probably beyond a Youtube video, though.

  • plizzz how can a chose the right string for my bass guitar i mean what king of sting shold i use for my bass guitar??? thx u

  • depending upon the year and make.

  • He continue it til he figures it out is what he is saying. Clueless.

  • I find it hilarious people gave me thumbs down.

  • Well maybe they thought you should exclude the thumb as a finger?

  • depends on the condition.

  • if you get a mexican one off ebay you might get lucky to get one for 300 bucks

  • alot of bass players play with their fingers or a pick.

REALLY! i actually have no respect for expert village no more.

  • I heard about a technique that you play with your mouth!!

    Forgot about that, DUH!

  • try to balance out the strings with a distortion on it, hahaha, another expert village fool hits the board!

  • lol

  • is this the best bass out there?>.

    wats the most expensive...?>...

  • As for the best bass, I dunno if their is one almighty bass out there; it really depends on the player's preference. The most expensive basses you'll probably find are rare vintage ones. The P-Bass that this man is adjusting is a pretty good bass, a good all round bass really. Doesn't make it the best though. Like I said, different bass for each player.

  • Gotta be a Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003 for me. I'd have to say the 4003 just because its the only one of the two that i've tried. Absolutely beautiful to play and sounds sooo good, and such a unique tone as well, you can hear a Rickenbacker from a mile off.

  • There you go. I think a bass has to be a bass for that person. Set up the way they like it, adjusted for their taste and style. Strings they like, not the kinda strings someone else recommended. Playability, neck profile, weight and sound as well. So in the end, the bass basically becomes an extension of them. For you my man, Rickenbacker does that. I love that, that makes it you dude. We are all unique, our instruments should reflect that.

  • they dont make the 4001 anymore mate. they 4003 is esentially the exact same model but with a few changes. i think they made it because of something to do with different strings, but im not sure haha

  • yeah, when they first made the 4001 they only had flatwound bass strings, then when roundwound strings came about the extra tension would warp the necks on 4001s so the 4003 is designed to cope with that

  • The best bass is what sounds good to you and is easiest to play.

The most expesive basses are Ritter, Fodera, and Tobais. That I know of.

  • Hey just wondering if anybody knew of good setting for a bass amp as of the Low, Mid, High, Presence?

I just cant find a setting iam happy with or dont know if the amp is shit. I will check back to see if anyone has any info.

    Thanks

  • it's actually so easy! I got ripped off last time I brought my bass for fine tuning, he did a lousy job, whereas if you have time, you can achieve perfect adjustments in your own room! thumbs up mate

  • I put the seymour duncan 1/4 pounders in my mim P-bass.I can't figure out the PUP height.I used a foam cushioning UNDERNEATH where the pup sits in the body to PUSH it upward and give some tension against the pup screws.I hit the strings hard and get that 'wolf' tone with the E string.

  • I like the fuzz. It reminds me oh when I was a kid and I used to steal my dads FuzzFace and CryBaby Wah pedals to run my bass through. I'll have to drag the old P-Bass over to his house the next time I visit :-)

  • sounds like a 4 string guitar. just in case you think i don't play an instrument, i play bass, ritter classic westfield, not very good but has a great tune! woo

  • My experience is that most basses when you buy them the factory(if it is fender or sandberg or whatever, they have done a nice job adjusting the pickup's, as i heard it, but this is good to know anyway, because sometimes i feel like i wanna adjust everything on my bass, even if it seems to be allmost perfect .

  • Hi,

I´ve spend 3 years of adjusting the pickup height, till I get it done right!!!

It´s not so easy as it seems....

The small changes makes the big differences!!!!
