  • This video just convinced me to buy this. I'm getting it in ebony.

  • Sweet .. Props for another lefty in Mass..

  • subscribe. gotta love the lefty representing mass.

  • Thanks Jon great video/clip

  • Best review I've seen. Very professional and fully informative. Thanks!

  • @justinsane8000

Thanks for watching. Tell your friends, especially the lefties.

  • Me gusta..

  • yeah massachusetts

  • I really like your reviews mate. keep em coming

  • Hey awesome video. I maybe want to buy this guitar, but some people on the internet say that the gold hardware wears off. And witch one is better, the dot or the sheraton?

  • @Big0e1 Thanks for watching. The Sheraton II is a nicer guitar than the Epi dot. The hardware is gold and it will wear off. I have some vintage guitars and the gold is still intact, so I'm sure the amount of gold and the process in plating is different now than it was 30 years ago. Anyone else care to weigh n on this?

  • @brianway1 I'm hesitating between buying a brand new Sheraton 2, a 2001 Sheraton, or a 1988 Sheraton (any helpful comments are welcome). The 1988's pick-ups gold is worn off, but it don't bothers me that much..

  • @kevinvdp92

I'd probably buy the 1988. It was probably made in Japan. Nice quality. Next the 2001 which was made in Korea. I'm not sure if the brand new ones are still made in Korea or China. Go with the 1988.

  • Hi, Been trying to find a left handed Sheraton in Natural finish. where did you get yours? Thanks alex

  • @magicrising

About 10 years ago I was checking guitars in a Sam Ash store and saw this on the wall. The salesman told me a guy had special ordered it in natural, and after he had for 2 weeks, he decided what he really wanted was an acoustic. It came home with me that day.

  • Great review John. I went out and found a Korean made Sheraton and I love it. Can I ask...Are the tuners your luthier put on misaligned? It appears so in the video Looks like the spacing and alignment are off on a few of them. Again, thanks for the great review.

  • @scout005

I'm sure you'll enjoy it for years. The tuning keys actually follow the concave shape of the headstock. They aren't supposed to be straight in this case. Thanks for watching

  • Two F-Holes....

  • the natural ones look so much better wish mine was natural

  • I was wondering if you could recommend a new bridge and tailpiece that will fit a new Sheraton II. I'm looking to change the hardware out to all black and can't find any answer as to what will fit without modification.

  • @IlluminateFilms

Stewart MacDonald sells luthier supplies and a boatload of parts. All with specific dimensions. You can find them online, and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

  • Hey Jon, beautiful looking/sounding guitar. I'm a lefty and was thinking about buying one, but couldn't find it in this natural finish (I've been told Epiphone only makes the left handed version in sunburst). Was this guitar custom ordered?

  • Hey Jon, How would 'you' compare this guitar with the Ibanez AS-83, AS-93 or AS-103? I have both the Sheraton II, and an AS-83; The Sheraton is stock, but the AS-83 has had a pickup change to Seymour Duncan Jazz neck Pup, and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. It's a rockin guitar, but for some reason, I keep picking up my Sheraton II more. You did answer one of my questions, I was wondering if the Imperials would fit. And where did you get those knobs??

  • Put a pearly gates in my ibanez. Theyre great pickups

  • I subscribed to you, you show the guitars im hoping to one day own.

  • LEFTY!!!!

  • Hi Jon, Great info on the Sheraton. Tell me, is that a Korean made model? I'm looking for one and am told that the Korean made Sheratons have superior workmanship versus the Chinese made ones. Thanks for a well made and informative video.

  • @scout005

Yes it's Korean made. Every guitar is different, especially now that many of the Asian products are partially hand made(cheap labor). So I don't feel comfortable making a blanket statement. Try as many out as you can; you'll find the one the has your name on it.

  • I have pearly gates on my semi-hollow. Its an Ibanez AS73, and they work a treat together.

  • Beautiful playing Jon. Very enlightening demo as well. Cheers from California!

  • @leftyzappa

I love Lefties and Zappa so you're already on the good guy list. Thanks for the nice comment and be well.

  • Not sure if this was asked before, But what was the song you played at the beginning? Sounds wonderfull. i would love to learn it.

  • @JOakesMusic

Thanks, glad you like it. That is the beginning of one of my tunes. Hope to have the music available before the end of 2011. We featured only original music on all the videos as to avoid any copyright infringements.

  • I completely agree with SOBTM850, this is the best review of the Sheraton II and one of the best for any guitar I've checked out!

  • Lefty's for life!!!

  • Hehe Cant help it but i like your voice its relaxing

  • This past year I bought a natural Sheaton II and replaced the stock pickups with a Gibson 57' and 57' plus in the bridge and I LOVE it. Very warm. This week I bought another Sheraton II (sunburst) that had upgraded wiring and pots as well as a pair of Dimarzio Air classics but it's a little too clean so I'm thinking of getting some Pearly Gates.. thanks for the video.

  • @easternblockmusic

    2 Sheratons......pretty sweet.

  • thats a dam beautiful guitar!

  • @ratrob

I'm sure there are some real pickup connoisseurs that can weigh in here, but here goes. One of my teles has a Gibson 57' in the neck. It is 7.79. The Sheraton has a Pearly Gates which is 7.08. Both are great sounding, but I personally like the pearly. It seems to be just a bit clearer. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

  • Simply wonderful Jon!

Youtube is lucky to have someone playing the guitars you do (left handed and usually affordable!)

    Keep playing!

  • @KREGuitars

Thanks. Glad you enjoy them. Send me an email if you have any questions on any of the guitars we reviewed.

  • @brianway1 How much do you think one of these is worth im thinking of getting on e ????

  • @jjlisle1234567890

They are about $600 US over on this side of the pond. Hope you get one as they are pretty nice guitars.

  • @brianway1 ok that helps cos i might be getting one for about £350 wich i think is pretty good great review btw and thanks for your help

  • @jjlisle1234567890

You're welcome. Enjoy, and thanks for watching. BTW we changed out the pickups for Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and wow......

  • Comment removed

  • great guitar and sound. what other gear did you use to make the video(soundwise), is the amp/cab you use mic'd up to the camera?

    thanks!

  • @janusego1

this vid we played through a line6 flextoneIIXL clean with a little chorus and verb. We used a shotgun mic about 6' from the cab (2x12). Hope this helps.

  • @brianway1 yes thanks, great tone

  • Hey Jon... i have a question for you :P

    Agile 2k w/seymour duncans or epiphone? O:

  • @metallicaxjavoxmcr

I'd take the Agile 2K with Seymours over the Epi LP any day, though the AL3000 beats them both.

  • GORGEOUS instrument!

  • Bravo , super démo

  • @cgerday

    thanks

  • YES. i will own this guitar in approximately 2 weeks!

  • @trank31337

Congratulations. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

    Jon Way

  • This has really helped me out ALOT!!

    Thanks alot mate!! :D

  • Hi again Jon,

Do you have any more videos of you playing the Sheraton with the Pearly Gates? I'd like to hear more Pearly Gates on that beautiful Sheraton. I'd like to hear some blues =)

  • @rainy78

Maybe someday. Right now we have released 18 videos since Oct 2009 and have 18 more to do, so..............until we can get through those...............

  • Hi Jon,

Nice Demo!!! Love the Sheraton with the pearly gates! Sounds mint!!! I'm looking at getting a sheraton soon and undecided about which pickups to buy for it. The pearly gates seem to sound great but I was also wondering about the Gibson P94's. Do you think it would be a good combo to have one of each on the sheraton? Thanks!

  • I'd put the P94 in the neck position and the Pearly Gates in the bridge position. You won't be sorry. Jon Way

  • Go uncle Jon!!

  • thanks...... more to come...

  • exellent video dude

  • @fm694

    thanks a lot.........

  • Very Nice Jon

  • thanks. It's a fun guitar....... well they're all fun

  • I saw some rug face sneaking in. Loved it :D
