nice but by your title we expected to see how this is done with directions, we were a bit disappointed there were no directions. good idea but nothing that fits you title
Gwen, This video was just uploaded to demonstrate the final result of our project. We embedded into a blog post with full instructions and a printable diagram. You can find it under the BabySteps tab by clicking on Step 1: Shelves at our website listed on the top right.
Cyndispot, I definitely think you could modify it to be front loading. I thought of the same thing. But you'd have to make sure you have enough space in your pantry or shelf to add that extra layer. In my pantry it's pretty easy to just reach in the back and stick them in.
OKay, I'm not meaning to sound negative, but I wonder if there is a way to make this front loading. It looks to me like you could just drop the cans in the hole at the front and then fill to the back...so if you added one more layer (assuming your shelf is tall enough), then it would be front loading. Would that work? I'm not really handy, but thinking I might try this. Curious on your thought

That is so cool. I always wanted a few of those but could never find one at a decent price.

Not only is it useful, but you are recycling materials to make it. Excellent.
