Thanks for the feedback. I'm learning that my tiny video camera may not be up to the task for some of this (I can't manually adjust some settings). Plus, Matt sat in a chair with some bad lighting. I guess I should have asked him to move. Everyone, feel free to give me your thoughts as I learn on the fly about this stuff.

I'd ask Mr. Blank to give you a decent HD camera, a simple wireless mic, and a little tripod to keep the camera steady during interviews - all that could be carried in a backpack. Try to keep a little distance between interviewee and background, make sure focus is on interviewee's face, and make sure interviewee is exposed properly. Good luck and keep up the good work!
