Europe/commonwealths have let their militaries weaken because you're under the NATO umbrella. The USA has a massive military funded by American taxpayers. NATO had to beg other countries to better fund their military a few years back or there would be no reason for NATO.

Israel fights its own battles. No European country could even defend its own country with their weak military. The USA would lose if the agreement stopped because most of that money goes back into our economy and we also get first shot a Israeli technology. It's the only 'equal' partnership we have.
