Dark Samus is done. I loved the character but the trilogy is over now so do something else. A game with the same gameplay as Metroid Prime but a different story arc would be sweet.

@Hamhark98 I want to see a Castlevania game done properly in 3D! SOTN was basically identical gameplay as Super Metroid. Why not do a Castlevania game with Primes gameplay? Replace the grapple beam with a whip.. ;)

1) Castelvania is owned by Konami so Nintendo cannot make that call.

2) Konami would never greenlight that because that idea is so stupid.

A first person Castelvania? Are you kidding me? You know they are working on Lords of shadows right now and despite looking like GOW it is really cool. But first person? Never.

@Hamhark98 Retro Studio developed Metroid Prime for Nintendo. They could do the same for Konami. Super Metroid had IDENTICAL gameplay to Castlevania: SOTN. Hence the phrase Castleroid or Metroidvania to describe that type of game. Retro Studios could make an EXCELLENT Castlevania game and I'm not the first person to suggest this. Lord of Shadows is being developed by MercurySteam Entertainment but it just as easily could've been licensed to Retro Studio. Stop talking from your ass.

@brandon9271 Hold on a minute. Just because Super Metroid and Castelvania have similar gameplay does NOT mean they both would work in first person. Metroid did because it has the shooting element. Castelvania just would not work. I never said Retro could not make a Castelvania game but that they could not make it in the vein of Prime. It just would not work.

@Hamhark98 I never said it had to be in first person. :) I just think Retro would do a great job because they have proven themselves with MP. IMO there hasn't been a good 3D castlevania game yet. I have a feeling Lord of Shadows will be more action oriented without the RPG or adventure elements.. I hope I wrong though.

Anyway I am sure Retro would make a great Castelvania game. But really why should they? In 3D Metroid and Castelvania have almost nothing in common so why do they need to make a game like that?

@Hamhark98 well, primarily because the 3D games have all sucked for the most part. I think this is mainly due to the fact that they abandoned the item finding, backtracking quest type gameplay of the GBA games. Metroid Prime pretty much translated the core elements of the 2D games into a 3D world and Castlevania has never done that. To this day the only CV games I bother to play are SOTN or the GBA / DS games. I prefer that to the more linear style of CV1.

Do I want to see Retro Studio create a new Metroid game? Absolutely.

Do I want to see Dark Samus and/or phazon return? Nope. We've got a nice trilogy here so let's keep it closed. There's plenty of room in the Metroid universe to have Samus explore other things.
