Dr. Burke, I watched this video after my daughter had her first OHS in Aug 09 - a Coarc/VSD repair. They did not remove her sub-aortic stenosis because there was only a 5% gradient. At 27 months old, we have just gotten word that it will soon be time to remove the flapping tissue. She has a "strange" aoritc valve. One of the leftlets is small. They want to save the valve. My question is about the tool that looks like a shoe horn. Is that holding the valve open while you resect the tissue?
Dr. Burke, just wanted to giv u a little update on Isabella (last surgery on Dec,22 2008) for 2nd sub-aortic stenosis. She's doing amazing no meds very active and getting close o her year checkup in January I will keep u up to date.
