Hey, this is a very funny film, highly entertaining! I arrived Ireland in a VW camper in 2002 and never left.. it really was as it's shown here back then, sadly everything's changed so fast, can't afford to drink any more the way I used to in those days, it was such fun! Thanks for posting this movie.. I like Janeanne Garofolo from 'The Truth About Cats and Dogs' which she was in with Uma Thurman.. she's tiny but funny and, I think, really pretty.. I laughed my butt off at this..Thanx, Px :))

It's 10 months later...I've found this movie again ..I stick by my first comment more-over I was move equally once again ...I laughed and cried ...but mostly I respected this as a work of art ...as an amazing portraiture of human frailty

good film...but...the number of mental hospital beds in ireland per capita is twice that of the european average....this film illustrates this

@siobanethier ...i have some irish inlaws and while they are well educated and upper middleclass (7 figure incomes) they are not totally "balanced" ...especially after a few ounces of bushmills ....this film illustrates what it might be like to attend an irish wake even in modern times

Though I've been to Ireland 20 times or so (my mother is from Kerry), I've never been up to the Galway area. Thanks to this movie, Roundstone & the Aran Islands are now on my 'bucket list' so I'll get there someday (God-willing). Thanks a million for posting the movie - one of my all-time-favs. I keep on hoping people will discover it as time goes on and that it will one day be even half as popular as the classic 'The Quiet Man'. My husband and I used 'Irish Heartbeat' to close out our wedding reception and we got loads of compliments on the song. @MAKBRANIFF what a nice idea as a last song! I'd have a hard time choosing the last song @ my wedding. I had often thought 'Stealaway' (Fureys) would b my last song then I discovered an awesome song on Steve Martin's itunes playlist: ''The Parting Glass'' (High Kings). I already knew the song but this version rocks! I have been 2 Ireland probably 20 times as well. It's been a long 5 years since my last visit :( My ma's from Tyrone. I think I was hearing Paddy Reilly's voice from the womb!
