but doesn't this video defeat the purpose of "not touching the hair because of the oil of your hands"? I mean sure cool to rehair, but then you'd have to do it again. Or was this just plainly to show how to rehair it?
@nitrouspurge cleaning your hands well before touching the hair would be useful, and not only by touching hte bow hairs once will the hair be ruined, the hair gets ruined by constant playing and touching
@capitalismforme but as I became older and ended up affording a "real" violin (GAND), i realized that there was a difference between a Violin "Craftsman" and a Violin "Luther". Hammond Ashly is the latter and they do a stellar job at that.

@capitalismforme I didn't know until I "became endowed" that the violin was actually holding me back to a great degree and especially found that true when I purchased my "Gand". After becoming knowledgeable, I sold the Hammon Ashley for 1/10 of what I payed for it.They may not be able to build a violin worth a dam, or so they couldn't in 1985 (I currently tour with Warner Bros. recording artist #@#$## and 25,000 people per night)...but they ARE some of the best repair men in the business.
