Im sorry but for a game that claims to be accurate...the german 88 which was mounted on the tiger tank could defeat any allied tank during the war, especially a sherman at close range. that was stupid. the only way a sherman could survive is by having the round pass right through the tank like paper.
WTF? Why the Fuck at 3:00 are the Shermans that are 100 feet away still alive after the Tiger put its gun on them. 88 rounds go through a Sherman like a hot knife through butter. Seriously WTF?!?!?!
I enjoyed this game, but I wish it would have been a bit more like combat missions. In CM you could create your own scenarios instead of telling the computer what you want to take into battle and having it come up with its own force.
In ToW 2 Africa only the GMC M10 can stop the Tigers and not very succesfully so the result of this battle is very clear but i was very surprised to see an 88 mm roud just bounce off a Sherman:O
this game is so bad. i tried the demo: the graphics are wretched, the orders unresponsive, the controls wacky, the game barely tells you anything even in the tutorial mission so ur stuck being a retard deploying your infantry in a line like napoleon. if there is any strategy here i missed it
If you've ever seen the front armour of a Sherman, you would realize that it is well armoured for a Medium Tank. After going to a war museum and PERSONALLY INSPECTING EACH ARMOR PLATE. It is thick, an the fact that it was slanted makes it even more resilient. Think, the bigger the round, the more gravity and energy effects the round. Think first. BTW Armour is how it's spelled in Canada.
@Tririnity Shermans frontal armor was 62mm thick and sloped at 63 degrees. Good armor made to resist the German 50mm gun which it did. But when they were released, the Germans were already using 75's. Check out Darkest Hour tanks...Darkest Hour/Red Orchestra is the best tank sims online, out there right now.
Shermans werent equiped with a gun to take on a tiger at that long a distance.The tiger on the other hand was quite capable of killing a sherman from two miles away.Almost unfair huh?
For everyone that think the TIGER has no tracks ... if you look in lower right corner you would see a small tiger picture with his tracks all red ... that means they are either damaged or destroyed ..... THUMBS UP so everyone can see !!
Some people just take it too seriously. This is a nice world war II game, realistic may have its flaws but ppl exaggerate on that. Grow a pair and enjoy life and games :)

@cuzgandalfgothigh99 The Tiger in Men of War is pretty much a slowly moving fortress. It's impervious to Shermans from the front, you can only hope ot blow up the tracks from there. One allied mission actually has you beat a Tiger by breaking it's tracks, flanking it with 1/2 tanks and placing a couple shots at point blank range in it's back. You can have a dozen Shermans firing at the Tiger from the front and unless you get an incredibly lucky hit on the tiger's cannon, those Shermans will die

@gaff2006 It happen in real life too. Even 128mm German shell bounce off Sherman. It about the angle of the shell is in and the angle of the armor. If the crew get lucky, the shell would bounce off no matter it velocity.

@ALLSTARKILLER9 an 88mm gun cannot penetrate a cromwell or sherman 1760 yards away. That is 1 mile. By the looks of this video they are even further away.
@drones200 Do you mean in the game or in real life? The 88mm L56 would penetrate any Sherman it hit, to the maximum range of the gun, with the possible exception of the extremely rare Sherman Jumbo. Ditto for the Panther's 75mm L70 gun.
If you look closely at the unit details at the bottum of the screen, you'll see that that tiger's tracks were hit and damaged. That is why you don't see the tracks.

@bunsinh456 and it's logically why he doesn't have, enemy shot them off if you didn't saw it, and if you see at the statistic down , you can see selected items damaged places if there are any damaged, if not, your tank is 100% or 90 undamaged.
u know i dont think the tiger was built in time for Africa, the germans did have superior tanks for the most of the african campaign, and the sherman came in toward the end. if the tiger had been in africa Romel would have won.

@shiyboy4 the firefly 17 pdr was on par with the panther - but the armour on a firefly was still crap. The panther was faster and so kicks hell out of a firefly. Open to debate but I still think the germans had a better army overall than anyone else - towards the end they always were outnumbered, had no fuel, and did really well with counter attacks.
@Paul3love well i reckon hitler coulda won, one problem was that he dedicating alot of his troops to the final solution, even after the invasion of normandy, another mistake was declaring war on america, cause he really didnt need another enemy, he couldve beaten brittain through attrition and then focused all his power to russia, then focus on the final solution (i dont say that in support but because we all know he wouldve)

@Paul3love yea u should do ur homework, cause that tank was disabled because it was a 1 in a million shot that caused a fire in the engine that couldnt be extinguished, because the abhrams uses an engine the same as a jet, and so the enemy couldn't do anything dodgy with that tank, the other american tanks turned on it and peppered it with shells. the crew survived and the tank was destroyed by enemy fire, which doesnt count because it wasnt directly destroyed by the enemy

@Paul3love on the engine, this cause a fire which was fueled by jet fuel and couldn't be put out, it would just have to burn for 12 hours, a 1 in a million shot, like trying to shoot a fly with a bb gun from 30 meters away. the bullet had no effect on the actual armour wat so ever, so no your point is not proven, i dont know where u get your facts from, but u obviously dont understand weapons, nor the complexity of the armour on the M1A1 Abhrams Tank, ur just a dumb kid who plays to many games
@Paul3love ok i have done some digging and found a flaw in my info, yes a handful of abhrams have been lost to enemy fire, no a challanger has not, more Abhrams have been produced than challangers so losses are gonna be more likely, as the abhrams are going to see more action, the abhrams is a more efficient tank, and is officially the greatest modern tank ever, and i said officially not my opinion, im man enough to admit my mistake but the abhrams is still better than the pommy tank

Anyway I used to work with a pilot of a Jaguar and he said that the yank planes run rings around Brits - he said no comparison. The diffence in cost is astounding so maybe tanks too?

Shermans had to get in real close and go for flank shots to successfully destroy a Tiger tank. Speed was the Sherman's strong point vs a Tiger. At long range the Tiger rules vs Sherman however.
@Skott62 Shermans aren't much faster than a Tiger, they go at around 24mph, a Tiger is abut 21/22mph IIRC. the real advantage was that due to their smal number Tigers mostly acted independently, whereas Shermans were always available in large numbers.
I hope there will be a game like the best ever like... good gameplay as Company Of Heroes The models and skins like Men Of War and the maps like Battlestations :D i think you need some pc and some work for a game like that :P

some times they OVER penetrate and zip out the ass of the tank.
where as the low velocity anti infantry and bunker 75mm cannon on the Sherman wasnt designed to take on other tanks. and bounced on the tigers and panthers front armor all day. some times even the sides.

If you look closely at the unit details at the bottum of the screen, you'll see that that tiger's tracks were hit and damaged. That is why you don't see the tracks.

u know i dont think the tiger was built in time for Africa, the germans did have superior tanks for the most of the african campaign, and the sherman came in toward the end. if the tiger had been in africa Romel would have won.

@shiyboy4 the firefly 17 pdr was on par with the panther - but the armour on a firefly was still crap. The panther was faster and so kicks hell out of a firefly. Open to debate but I still think the germans had a better army overall than anyone else - towards the end they always were outnumbered, had no fuel, and did really well with counter attacks.

@Paul3love well i reckon hitler coulda won, one problem was that he dedicating alot of his troops to the final solution, even after the invasion of normandy, another mistake was declaring war on america, cause he really didnt need another enemy, he couldve beaten brittain through attrition and then focused all his power to russia, then focus on the final solution (i dont say that in support but because we all know he wouldve)

@Paul3love yea u should do ur homework, cause that tank was disabled because it was a 1 in a million shot that caused a fire in the engine that couldnt be extinguished, because the abhrams uses an engine the same as a jet, and so the enemy couldn't do anything dodgy with that tank, the other american tanks turned on it and peppered it with shells. the crew survived and the tank was destroyed by enemy fire, which doesnt count because it wasnt directly destroyed by the enemy

@Paul3love's dick, RPG's arnt as powerful as u might think, do u understand anything about weapons at all, did u know that one time an M1 broke down in the middle of a group of Taliban who spent the entire night shooting guns and RPG's at the tank, with no effect, and the crew just sat there until the next morning when they were rescued, the tank was repaired and they drove off. oh and wat i heard was it wasnt an rpg, it was a single bullet that entered the engine and caused the fire.

@Paul3love wow how clever u are, i didnt call u richard dumbass, if u look closely, i made the point of how much u love dick, didnt notice the 's after ur name? no well u dont seem like some one who notices the small things, and u dont seem all that bright, the bullet didnt penetrate the armour dumb ass, if u notice the vent on the rear of the tank which is used to vent out the jet fumes, and exhaust, its weakest point of the tank, the bullet entered there and managed to hit one tiny point

@Paul3love on the engine, this cause a fire which was fueled by jet fuel and couldn't be put out, it would just have to burn for 12 hours, a 1 in a million shot, like trying to shoot a fly with a bb gun from 30 meters away. the bullet had no effect on the actual armour wat so ever, so no your point is not proven, i dont know where u get your facts from, but u obviously dont understand weapons, nor the complexity of the armour on the M1A1 Abhrams Tank, ur just a dumb kid who plays to many games

@Paul3love ok i have done some digging and found a flaw in my info, yes a handful of abhrams have been lost to enemy fire, no a challanger has not, more Abhrams have been produced than challangers so losses are gonna be more likely, as the abhrams are going to see more action, the abhrams is a more efficient tank, and is officially the greatest modern tank ever, and i said officially not my opinion, im man enough to admit my mistake but the abhrams is still better than the pommy tank

@shiyboy4 ok, but have you driven other tanks? Also isnt driver the first post in a tank? Then you go loader, gunner then commander right? So when you are a commander then you will have more authority in your statement. I know the Australian Army had some M1s delivered - are they the latest version (A2?)
Anyway I used to work with a pilot of a Jaguar and he said that the yank planes run rings around Brits - he said no comparison. The diffence in cost is astounding so maybe tanks too?

Shermans had to get in real close and go for flank shots to successfully destroy a Tiger tank. Speed was the Sherman's strong point vs a Tiger. At long range the Tiger rules vs Sherman however.

@Skott62 Shermans aren't much faster than a Tiger, they go at around 24mph, a Tiger is abut 21/22mph IIRC. the real advantage was that due to their smal number Tigers mostly acted independently, whereas Shermans were always available in large numbers.
