Idiots like this drummer don't listen to anybody, cause they know it all. Foundation-foundation-foundation. Explode when it's your turn. It's Gino's band, not yours. I hope Gino kicked his ass after the gig. He wrecked the whole song.
Worst drum playing I've heard in more than 30 years of playing. OVER PLAYING. Let it breath dude, you ain't the entire band. I think I even saw the bass player telling him to calm down. If he didn't, he should have!!!
Gotta agree...been following Gino for decades, and know the lineage of all his great drummers. The old school guys like Graham Lear and Casey Scheuerell had all the chops you could ever need BUT they were musical in their playing, which had space and a flowing pulse. All this post Coliauta/Donati 'splitting the groove' stuff is immature, egotistic and very unmusical. Meltzer has chops, he just needs to study his predecessors.
Reinhart Meltz (drummer) is splitting the groove too much for me to enjoy the song! Enzo was moore tasteful in this matter. Thinks he shows of to much in oddtime playing, wich is NOT the point here. Balance please!

The drummer is great, but he is really overplaying. Detracts from the musicality of the song.
