  • Hey Jim,

I would start with all the simple stuff and work your way up. Check your air filter, all your vacuum hoses and rubber intake. Take a good look at your spark plug too. It will tell you a lot about what your motor is doing. We have a plug chart on our info site you can download.

    Good luck!

  • Hello. I have a question. You have a scooter with gy6 2008. All in a sudden it started loosing power keep on riding and it get worse in month later you notice it do not have enough power drives around 35-40 miles few weeks goes by then it bogs when on high speed now you give full throttle and it goes only something like that. This is a scooter with a gy6 150cc. What's the problem?

This is my story of me. What should I do? What you recommend? Thank you

    jim

  • @jcer93705

MPH not in miles but miles per gallon. Sorry.

  • You could probably use warm soap and water.

You don't want to use anything too harsh.

The type oil you use is important but cleaning can be done with a variety of mild degreasers.

  • Can I just use regular carb cleaning spray for the air filter or is there a specific kind of chemical I have to buy for it?

  • Thanks alot tom and ryan this has honestly made me be able to do anything to my buggy and know what im doing.. some help on my rear brakes it is not doing well what so ever its grinding i just recenlt replaced my brake pad if you can just maybe put a video up on how to fix this please my brake pad looks loose to and the park brake dont work and i can tell that the brakes are not working to full capabilities

  • That's not good but probably not a big problem. I'd check all your air lines and air filter to be sure nothing is clogged. Unless you changes the cam or something, it's probably just an air issue.

  • Hey i have BAJA DUNE 150 Gokart and i cannot get the carb to stop leaking and its leaking out of the Air Filter and wont start Whats wrong???

  • You should not have to replace the gasket that is between the intake manifold and the motor unless it is damaged. When you take your carb off, you leave the manifold right where it is, No need to mess with it unless you're going with a larger carb.

  • Oh yeah, did thiis make the buggy run better?

  • Yep!

Started right up and runs great. I have yet to see a buggy that couldn't benefit from a good carb cleaning.

  • NIce instructional video. Is there not a gasket between the bottom bowl and the main carb housing? DId you have to replace the gasket that installs between the carb and intake on the motor?

  • Yes, there is a gasket on the bowl. Be careful to not get cleaning fluid on the gasket, it will expand some and not fit back in right. Just take it off (Carefully) and set it aside. It will stick to the bowl in most cases and is fine to leave it there, just inspect it for tears or breaks.
