Wow! First comment!! Thanks!. But don't bother bringing your tripod, you'll be forced to deposit it. And tripod is not allowed in many areas in London (cameras, even dslr are ok, though). Apparently, once they see a tripod, they would think that its a professional shot and the guy is out to make lots of money. It happened to me and another guy even in an open area near the london tower. Maybe you'll get lucky if there's no guard nearby...

i'm going to london this week, and i'm planning to do something of this sort. why were you not allowed to bring your tripod?
