Hey Mantic, I've seen commercials for "lectric shave" and they say you splash it on before shaving to make the stubble stand on end for a closer shave. It's meant for electric razors.( the horror) but maybe it will do the same thing under a coat of lather too. Any thoughts?
Excellent video as always. I'm saving up for a badger hair bush. I'm currently using an Erasmic Pure Bristle shave brush. It feels a bit scratchty on my face, though. It's made of hog hair. That could be why. Can I still clean that brush with either vinegar, pet shampoo, or borax?
@mantic59 Distilled white vinegar is often sold as a cleaning product in health food stores. But white malt vinegar should be widely available as a cooking product.

Silly question: has anyone else ever had a cat try to rip a new badger brush to shreds?

The Vinegar option works well for me. I use a Floppy 'ol Vulfix though.

Like, er, I got my dog all dirty with this shampoo. That's got to be bad, right? Can you recommend a soap that will remove all this soap?
kherux 1 year ago
Do you prefer a stiff or a floppy brush?
joscobo 1 year ago
@joscobo i prefer a brush a little on the stiff side, but its a personal preference kind of thing.

well I can understand the pet shampoo thing as it's made of animal. unless it's synthetic lol
subzero1456 1 year ago
Borax isn't commonly available here in the UK anymore (safety reasons).
Pet shampoo? That's no different from human shampoo or, say, dish detergent. If there's a difference (besides the packaging) then please inform me.
You didn't explain when I asked last time why and when you'd need to clean your brush.
kherux 1 year ago
Yes vinegar exists in the rest of the world, lol.

@vthomlinson yes, a couple of the Q&A's could be considered "repeats" of other videos. I guess I have so many that people forget the earlier ones.

We have Vinegar in the UK.
SAHousemaster 1 year ago
@SAHousemaster is it reasonably widely available? i ask because i was told a couple years ago it wasnt a common item in groceries in the UK.
mantic59 1 year ago
@mantic59
How can something like vinegar not be available? You even put it on your fries in the UK, don't you?
Borax is something you might have to deliberately search for, but some ordinary white vinegar seems to be a pretty common item.
