  • maximum sonic enjoyment???? you should hear my 4 HX2 12s on 2000 watts rms....

  • this is crazy,,,,there is no way this 5 grand...been in the car stereo business for over 25 years....Now if this were boston pros, JL audio subwoofers and amps with, a high end kenwood nav unit, with real wire, this may run arond 3700-4300...I would never put alpine speakers in a car..more less a dog house..LAMO

  • subaru + alpine = the ultimate beast !!!

  • @InspiredBloodMage The truth is they probably didn't pay shit. Alpine mostly gave it to them in exchange for the free exposure.

  • Lawl... pdx5 only has 300w of power on the sub channel... the type r sub needs atleast 500w to run correctly... alpine sucks now btw.

  • massive 4 gage lol i got speeker wire that big what a joke

  • If a 4 gauge power wire is massive, whats my 0 gauge wire??

  • "sub wuuufer" lol

  • omfg...one type r....iwanted to see how many subs they could put in

  • @slipknot555133 its a wrx its made for speed to much to heavy

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc -im pretty sure 100 pounds will not slow down that much

  • @slipknot555133 for sure it will they take out back seats that like 25 lb to 45lb only u got bigger box biger amp for biger subs

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc -well then you should probably lose some weight

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc - i hope you didnt take me seriously i was joking..but you are right..it is meant for speed i was just saying id like to know how many subs they could put in

  • why would they put shitty alpine products in a sti...

  • @elleray6 Alpine is actually a respectable brand compared to most other brands. Cept their amps not a big fan but decks, subs, most of thier stuff is great but pricy. And its not about The size of the sub its about the Power. The Type R is actually a dam good sub pushing 600watts rms thats the the same as 4 Kicker comps 12". 5k For a system like that is alot though. <3 your subaru <3 subaru's in general.

  • @HonsFF13

Alpine IS a respectable brand. The way I worded that statement could be misleading. Think of it like this, the STI is the top of the line impreza, while the speakers and sub, the type-r's, are more like a 2.5i, of the alpine lineup. I ran a CDA-9886 in my honda prelude for years, and loved it. And those amps are great for size and output. However, the type-r speakers are really sharp and harsh sounding at high volumes, and the sub sounds a bit sloppy.

  • @elleray6 Also, one ten inch sub, even if its pushing more power, is not going to be pushing anywhere near the same amount of air as the 4 kickers. Be that as it may, the type R sub does sound alot better than kicker comp cvr's. Personally, it depends on what you want from the sub. the type r isn't exactly made for SQ, and its more of an entry level sub compared to what my ears are used to. But if you listen to music where the bass doesn't have to sound like an instrument, im sure its just great

  • @elleray6 heres a joke to shut u up 1st off u dont no bass CVR hahah r 300rms healining 600watt each the type r is 750 rms healing at 1500 watt and 300 rms is for CVR12" this type r is a 10" ur a joke and what u said was an even biger joke who ever i agree with you is too

  • @elleray6 Regardless, The speakers and subs sound shitty. Sure, that ten will be pretty loud, but if they're only putting one ten inch woofer in there, they aren't going for loud. IMO, they should have gone with something a couple steps up, even though this will still sound miles above the shitty stock sound system in these model imprezas.

  • @elleray6 10" subs 8 " 6" r the best sound subs in the world they play every beat ahahahahahahaha n e thing higher gose deeper

  • @elleray6 alipne is better then most other brands like clarion and panosonic unless you really wanna spend cash buying like dd or fi

  • @SteveFrench306 If you wanna talk wal-mart brands sure. Most of alpine's product line is entry level, hence why its so cheap.

  • seriously. and only one ten?

  • LMAO 5k for this piece of shit system?

  • i have no clue why some people are complaining why a company spends a few K's to bump up the sound. douches

  • MASSIVE 4 gauge wire guys. Get it? 4 FRICKEN GAUGE WIRE! Hahaha. Honestly, for this system, 4 gauge is fine. But you want a massive wire? Go double 00.

  • GAH how can people buy a headunit without a volume knob. Maybe its just me but i could never be without literally turning up the sound, hitting buttons just isnt the same

  • 5000 bucks to slow your car down? I live in a different universe..

  • i see alot of people on here saying how big of a rip off this was from the standpoint of a installer let me saw was it over priced yea a little but not buy much seeing as this vid was made in 08 i pulled out my old alpine price book and for parts you are looking at a $1500 COST on that headunit with the blackbird $400 on the amp and all most $700 on speakers and sub so your looking at a $2600 COST on part befor you add the box the wiring and labor and parts markup so $5000 is about $800 too much

  • lol subwuuufer

  • @lavid2006 Yeah, Because they spent 5 grand on the sound system.

  • If you're into racing and exterior looks, spending money in that is fine. If you just want to upgrade your sound system, thats fine too. I love how people just want you to spend money on the motor. Or put a bodykit on. Maybe i just want to put a fucking nice system on. Its my fucking money. You want me to spend on motor? Give me the fucking money COCKSUCKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No? Then shut your fuckin mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah dardy thats what im on about! sick system man thats exactly what i want, not as good car but haha want like a 95 wrx but the whole type R system gunna be sikkkk

  • ripped off indeed

  • Seriously, I've been building sound systems sense I was in high school about 14 yes now. I could have built you an entirely better and cheaper set up. But I also wouldn't have spent 5k on sound in a performance car....

  • 4 gauge O.O with one 10" BUAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!! unless your pushing 50k+ you dont need more than 12 gauge XD FAIL you guys got ripped of hard!

  • @doomboy829 your seriously are retarded. 4 guage is good for up to 1000 watts

  • @detboy600 im saying that its to big not that its to small...... im running 8 on 2k in my dads burban with 2 12" and its more than plenty.

  • @doomboy829 no such thing as too big when it comes to the wiring. as long as it isn't physically too big to work around in your car.

  • @elleray6 true but it gets expensive....

  • @elleray6 -true that i always tell people just to get 0/1 gauge its not too big but big enough to look cool too

  • wonder what the cost of the head unit and installation...?

  • id rather spend that $5,000 on performance parts, all that sound system wont get you off the line faster

  • @DJKrispyKreme yeah but not everyone is into racing

  • @afallenskater123 good point, it all depends on the person

  • Why didn't you do it yourself for about 2-300

  • I love how they refer to 4 gauge wire as massive. Maybe they were talking about 4/zero gauge? lol

  • 4 gauge is not massive lol

  • 5000? LOL

  • wow! $5000? i could do that for less than $800 not including the headunit which is what like $1500? wow they got ripped big time.

  • not really, alpine charges so much for their amps it's ridiculous... maybe $2000+

  • @WhatsCS um i got a 4.150 for $415 bud and thats a lower end one than i got its called the internet

  • @slapoutz

thats a 4 channel 150 watt amp. that would go for like 100 dollars for any other company. they probably got a 4 channel 500 with a 600 mono, its the mono that is expensive and 415 is not even close to cheap for that type of amp.

  • @WhatsCS the amp they got is 450 on the internet and yes i know alpines amps arent cheap i didnt say that but they are small =)

  • 5000 dollars??? HAHAHA WHAT A RIP OFFFF!!!!

  • almost 5,000? u got ripped off lol

  • @YaBoyBaby916 HAHA, yeah that's kinda what I was thinking too...

  • Jl audio is definatly not cheaper than alpine, and it does sound a lot better, although it could be hard to tell. by the way its not what kind of speakers you have, its what type of amp you have.... tha'ts what matters most. I have had kicker all my life just cuz its loud and I thought it was cool when i was 15, i know its not the best quality.... its just the most famous(opinion). I do like alpines amps and subs though personally, they do sound pretty good

  • kickers got SPL. and they make decent amps. but their sound quality is total shit. alpine's got a good balance of SPL and quality. and they last forever if you use em right.

  • Kickers are best.

  • actually kicker audio sounds like shit. Its really only worth it for the bass. this guy obviously wanted quality not shitty rattles

  • i love alpine :) and the iba w505 thing is a grand

  • Why the fuck doe's it matter if it dont got the DVD/NAV in the car? why not spend money on the engine and body.

  • well some people dont care about speed

  • @eclipsegsx765 im only assuming as they said it was their long term car that they travel in it alot, and therefore wanted the nav

  • @mrkappes A STI for a travel car?

  • @eclipsegsx765 Im betting so. they problly wanted a sti and they were able to get the company to pay for most of it. If it is indeed a company car most people that get to choose their company car get what they want no whats practical lol

  • @mrkappes Yeah, 5 grand into a sound system in the car? lol.

  • @eclipsegsx765 yeah I"m also betting it cost nowhere near that and that the two company's did this a a joint endevor and simply put that price up to impress.

  • @mrkappes Or to make them seem speacial they can spend that much on a sound system and a STI.

  • @eclipsegsx765 because sometimes comfort is better than looking cool or going fast.

  • @eclipsegsx765 cuz the shit is zoomy as it is lol

  • @eclipsegsx765 yeah i said zoomy lol

  • You have got to be the dumbest debater in history- even calling attention to your fail on C&D's main page! I don't know how you can't see the other commenter's point- If you are commenting on a subject, CLEARLY you care! And, in case you didn't notice his satire, you could have stopped the conversation at any time by just not commenting back, and showing that you cared. Did you seriously not pick those points up?! Also, what he was doing was defending the other person you were trying to mock.

  • wow what did he say at 0:02, soobroo?

  • In New England at least, I can confirm that this is how it is pronounced.

  • the car brand is subaru you dumb fuck look at the dam title

  • You won that argument with that arrogant ass, hands-down.

  • mk.

  • You CARE!!!! :)

  • My life is awsome! thanks for CARING!!!

  • holy crap 4 gauge wire if you know electricity thats actually pretty huge

  • I know you care :)

  • You care that im right? :)

  • Thanks for careing so much!! Much love :)

  • Im glade you care about my life! But really you should get one

    ;)

  • thanks for caring :)

  • if you didnt car you wouldnt comment fool :)

  • IF you didnt care you wouldnt have commented :)

  • looks like you do.

  • Nuff said.

  • wtf? i dont remember watching this vid or even commenting on it...

anyway i already know the price cuz im getting something like this in my car

  • its not a kicker its a type r :)

  • i woulda got more than just a 10 inch kicker...

  • type r 10's bump dude.

  • yeah but he coulda atleast got 2 of them, 1 sub isnt as good

  • and its a 10" as well.. If ur gonna spend good money on your car at least get the goos shit

  • It really depends on the brand and strength of the sub. I've sat in a truck with 4 10's and it sounded good. And I've sat in a car with 2 6's and it sounded even better. So one GOOD 10" sub can definitly be a good thing. And some people don't want to rattle the earth out of orbit with their speakers like most of the dumb teenagers that buy subs do. Its all about having QUALITY sound, not heavy bass and no music.

  • ok, im tired of these idiots.

THERE IS A THING CALLED DEADENER TO TAKE AWAY THE RATTLE!

damn near any sub you put in a car, when turned up it's going to rattle with no deadener! as for all the retards talking about SQ this and SQ that..what the fuck do you think mids and highs are for? get a few emeneinces or a selenium horn and you'll have better SQ that most cars that dont even have subs...DUMB ASSES.

  • you are the dumb ass. everything you just said proves it. you obviously do not understand what sound quality even means.

  • uhm....how do i not understand what SQ means? the fact that a trunk is sheet metal and vibrations from any subwoofer that is placed in the trunk will make it rattle so why not get sound deadner?

or the fact that SQ goes alot deeper than just the subwoofer and also needs to be coupled with the right components, EQ, etc. to maximize SQ?

  • sound quality is the speakers ability to accurately reproduce sound. just because your car rattles does not mean your system does not have good SQ. also, just because your system does not rattle does not mean your shit ass speakers do have good SQ. there are SQ subs, SPL subs, and loads of subs that are inbetween. the SQ of a sub has nothing to do with the SQ of the components and vise versa.

  • but an mtx 5500 dvc is cheaper and sounds way better and handle way more power

  • Sub--WU-fer??

    Nice job moron.

  • ok who ever thinks this system cost 2000 is retarded! the head unit itsself is 1400 add the sub at bout 200 no including the box then the amps and speakers thats way over 2G's. dont forget instalation and i saw the imprint and that runs bout 250 i think. so no not 2000.

  • What about Navigation? Guess you could of gotten a $50 tom tom too. I agree with you, 5K is way too much and the Subie is loud inside too compared to other cars.

  • There's no way this costs near $5000. Should be around $2000.

  • i wanna know how much did it cost...

  • wht a waste of $5000...

  • Yeah, could've gone to a TBE, 20g, injectors, Wally FP, a tune, and a good set of coilovers, better tires, lots of shit.

  • yep...or some poor high school kid could've got a decent used car to show his gf.

  • haha yeah that'd be me. maybe next time...

  • @subireza. That would cost way more than $5k lol. The 20g itself would take a huge chunk of that money and the coilovers would take the rest..

  • if you want to learn how to wire your own car amplifier check out my videos. I go into detail on the fundamentals on amp installs. CHECK IT OUT!

  • Ok can someone tell me how that cost $5000 because that shouldn't even be over $4000 unless there was some stuff they didn't tell us about.

  • i would say under $2500

  • Never owned a car with this kind of setup. Reminds me of high school... Japanese pocket rocket with big stereo, every 16 year olds dream. I still want it.

  • "Massive 4awg power wire"

You think that's massive? Try 1/0 or 2/0 and then you can claim that your power wire is massive lol

  • yea or double zero, i had a friend that had to run a double zero(that or 4- 2/0 we went with the dbl zero for fewer wires to trouble with) wire to power almost 20k watts

  • Yea it makes perfect sense to drop $5,000 on an '08 sti in audio upgrades(retarded)

  • did they say how much RMS was goin to that 10" type R sub

  • I guess they Had the PDX-5 running everything

So I would say a little over 300 RMS to the Type-R

Correct me if I'm wrong please

  • I would love to no how much it all was..

    Sweet ride..

  • We install a kickin' Alpine sound system in our long-term Subie—to the tune of almost $5,000

    Read the side bar.

  • Where did the amp go? Under the seats, false trunk floor, or in the spare wheel well?

  • how much??

  • put up more details what kind of amp? thats a big awg wire for an amplifier if tis only running that one speaker. Ive got mine with 8awg running to two amps for two r12's

  • it running all of them 75 watts to the fourfull rangers

  • are you kidding me? what kind of amp are you using? if its legit, at all, you should do at least a 4. its like a hose kind of, the bigger the wire the more energy it can transmit faster. put a 4 or even a zero on your rig and try and tell me it isnt louder. and that amp is an alpine pdx

  • sounds like a damn robot

  • type r all the way hahahah

  • how much?

  • Read the side info..

  • W.O.W.! Sweet!

  • how much was the head unit and installation?
