  • not goin california us!

  • There are definitely some good deals at the moment, I picked up a lot of info from bestvaluethemeparks (.) com

  • The spiderman 3 set was burnt down :(

  • @BackstreetBabexx spider man was Columbia Pictures NOT Universal Pictures

  • Comment removed

  • @22malibuHCO Funny how they have a Spiderman ride in Universal though isn't it?

  • How the fuck do you stop a fire like that :|

  • @HannahChannel101 Yes 0_o

  • man this sucks

  • Wait, so the real model that was used in King Kong the movie was burned?

  • i guess so

  • @WeHateThePatriots No. The King Kong attraction burned down.

  • i went there A DAY after the fire..

i was on my way to cali and we saw it on the tv on the plane :(

  • was orlando or LA

  • i remember that day i was in the tour and then BOOM something blew up and it coght on fire

  • @halochief2 its actully this year during summer xD

  • At least now they can say that they have the best fire effects of all the studios.

  • how did it catch fire anyway

  • idk the kingkong ride

but i think back draft started the fire

    :o idk

  • Fire Tour

  • king kong will be back but its gonna take awhile.....

  • it was backdraft

  • all signs point to get the hell out of Cali...

Id stay away from the coasts.. its going to get ugly.

  • I was sad that king kong burned down. It broke my heart that was my favorite part. :'(

  • It's actually now reopened. King Kong however is closed and they will not reopen it til next spring.

  • why are they not opening king kong?

  • It was burned in the fire. Completely destroyed so it would be unsafe, and they want to improve it. They are making it a 4-D experience and it will be more like Peter Jackson's "King Kong."

  • it was one of their Fire Of Flames Tour....

  • I hope next time the whole place burns down...

Its such a crappy theme park, theres only three rides and none of them are very thrilling...

Only good attraction there is WaterWorld, other than that its a very boring theme park... Burn in hell!

  • wow your real cool

  • Hot, not cool, hot. Fire = hot.

    wow your real HOT...

  • "Burn in hell!" Says the Devil himself.

  • first off it says california and i bet Disney was like BURN BABY BURN!

No offence to any Universal people.

    That place rocks!

But I hate the demolition of back to the future!

  • damn...would i have LOVED to live in cali and be on that call

  • I was actually working there on that day, no guests were allowed in the park and they made us stay in our breakrooms until further notice

  • Comment removed

  • :(

I went there the day before the fire.

  • I was just there last week. The Courthouse from Back to the Future did not burn down but did have some fire damage, so it was easy to repair. However, the New York area and King Kong were destroyed. The tour guide told me it should be done by mid summer this year. However, King Kong will not be part of the ride. They are going to replace it with a more up to date attraction. Rumor is it will be Transformers.

  • Oh I guess thats okay...Right now I heard there is an actual tombstone for old Kong there. Is there any truth to this?

  • actually no. they are going to keep king kong but it will be in 3-D.

  • I live in cali and when i went there i saw that place....they play with fire alt or its sum ppl wwanting to burn down it

  • The ultimate special effect.

    Except it wasn't one.

  • nobody pays for this! (i hope...^^)

how can people make money with them !?

  • Looks like backdraft escaped then

  • is this the theam park or the place where they make the movies?

  • both

  • oh i thank thee KerriCP

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo no more universal movies :'(

  • darn... the fire didnt get to the Desperate Housewives set...

  • @gabman6 They have King Kong 360 3D at Universal Studios Hollywood.

  • the thing that bothers me is that the hill valley clock thing from back to the future was burned. gosh dang firefighters were too slow.

  • The Los Angeles Fire Department which has a long history and a lot of experience in dealing with studio fires sure did a great job in putting out this fire which could have destroyed much more of the studio backlot.

  • Whoa, usually the fires are on purpose but this is real! lol

    And I don't know why but, I find 0:48-0:52

    kinda cool........

    but deadly!

  • in the tour they let us see the place were the fire happend..

  • how did it happen?

  • They're fixin it all back up. Since all this is artificial, it's easy to replace it and the money is there to do just that.

  • i herd that the king kong exhibit sucks but.... i went on the back to the future ride, and is this the reason it was closed down?? CAUSE I LOVED IT :(

  • no the back to the future ride is now the simpsons ride, they just changed it, and added more movements to the simmulator. so it is nicer now.

and king kong will be back, it is one of the favorites at universal studios hollywood. people are upset that it is gone now.

  • did this happen at USF or USH???

  • RIP Back to the Future set :(

  • court house square has been changed a long time ago, it is now being used on the tv show ghostwhisper. and only the side of the court house was burnt and some of the buildings onthe side of it. but like all things in the movie industry it will be back better then ever

  • Why are people like "Yay bye you stupid king kong" what if you were in that fire >_> You want people to say "Yay" about your death? It sucks that the set burned down

  • Its about time universal learned that when they mess with fire they're bound to get burned sooner or later.

  • this is funny finally that ugly ass gowilla buwmed that shit was UGLY

  • holy crap!!!!

  • dddddddddddddaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg

  • wow!

  • Some workers were taring a roof.

  • is jaws still there

  • man i hate the guy that did that !!

  • Another one of my childhood dreams just gone up in smoke, seeing the set of bttf

  • Hollywood is beautiful........ the fire is a disgusting tragedy, but naturally they will build a new one.

Sharon Stone is a lovely woman, and a wonderful actress.

All of the political quagmire arisen from her simply stating an opinion that she has every right to have is ludicrous......and since we are all on the discussion of Karma, I guess those in Hollywood must've done some great things in the past to be where they are now, so get over your envy (those who have it) and show some respect!!!!

  • they can build a new one but all the original stuff is gone which cant be replaced

  • Did also the park go on fire ????

  • Shouldv'e never taken down back to the future.

  • king kong did it!

  • The real question is how many camera did the studio have covering the fire for future films?

  • Talk about tasteless... would you be saying that if you were one of the fire fighters, or if there was a loss of life? As in, the fire was there during business hours when you and your loved ones get engulfed in flames?

  • brilliant! God has spoken! (not that I believe in god anyway)

  • No. cloverfield did it

  • Godzilla did it

  • Hollywood and the modern movie industry has become so corporate and unimaginative and poor, making mindless remakes to sell to the mindless public its got some payback. I hope the Hollywood sign burns next.

  • Yet another elitist view of any industry. Your so-called indie films are usually backed by someone in Hollywood. Open your eyes and stop regurgitating what has been spouted out by typical know-it-alls.

  • I do not believe that Hollywood is crap and a greedy lazy piece of shit because someone else told me, I know because I have seen the movies get poorer and poorer and Hollywood make more and more money from it, its called experience and believing in what you see, you should try it sheeple. Indie films? What on earth are you chatting about? Try not to be so judgmental and make assumptions, that way you wont look so ignorant.

  • It's called an opinion, and you're swearing that it's the truth. Experience and believing in what I see? I've seen the movie experience get better. Yes, there's tons of crap out there. But there was crap back in the 60's, all the way through every decade. It's always "I remember when movies were...". Call everyone else sheep if you want, but at least we can enjoy life and not be so bitter about things. *Baa Ram Ewe* Lemme guess, you think every movie idea has been done before, blah blah blah.

  • Because I have an opinion i am bitter? LOL, OK.

The experience has only appeared better to you because your mindless, and because the things that rock your boat are mindless car chases, good looking people who are equally mindless and special effects with no soul, you have been told the movies have got better, and because your a programmed robot you believe it. Of course there has always been crap, but now today its most of it and most is in the mainstream.

  • No, you're trying to pass your opinion of as doctrine. You say you "know because... its called experience." Yeah, just because I liked Transformers doesn't mean I have to like the The Crystal Skull or Pirates. And just because I liked Transformers doesn't mean that I can't like Sweeney Todd or There Will Be Blood. And just because I liked those doesn't mean I have to like No Country. Btw that Hollywood sign is part of history, and will always be rebuilt if needed.

  • I hope masters of film are not stocked in this area. Save the negative of Jaws and others masterpieces.

  • sigh thank god i've taken picture during april XD o well sad that all those classic stuffs are gone T_T

  • King Kong gone. Where was God?

  • The King Kong exhibit destroyed? It's time like these I shake my fist at the heavens and demand to know "Why G_d, Why?

  • i was there a week ago..

    that sucks its gone.

  • Haha...

  • i was ther on friday LOL

  • Looks like Kong died... :'(

  • I heard that it was the New King Kong, the one that doesnt move.

  • Yes, but was it the beauty that killed the beast?

  • dang that sux!

the king kong ride was destroyed :(

most of the tram tour is gone now

and all the backlot...damn what a shame

  • wow

  • to bad it wasent the disney HQ

  • lol i agree

  • amazing i was just there 1 week ago

  • I guess it is possible for one to stage a real fire.

    What, Not funny?

  • i work there no rides were destroyed king kong was lost but back to the future (SIMPSONS RIDE) is fine it was mostly movie sets and a video vault.

  • Are the rides destroyed ???

  • The Back to the Future set was also destroyed

  • welp...That cancel's my plans this summer.

  • I was there 3 days before the fire. It was a cool place to visit on my first trip to California. I am glad I got to see it before it was gone.

  • burn Hollywood burn or so John Lydon said.....

  • I was there about two month ago! :( Sad

  • I said a comment the other day that apperently offended a bunch of people. It's the truth I just didn't go all out explainging my reasonming. I'm sorry to those people who got offended.

  • this was so hard to watch all those explosions

  • SAVE THE CLOCK TOWER!

Altough its to late for that now :'(

gonna miss back to the future...

  • Must be karma.

  • Why, because Sharon Stone said crap about karma? Or because you hate Hollywood? I'm guessing you've watched a movie on DVD or in the theaters or on TV within the past few years, so what does that say about you supporting the Hollywood product?

  • damn... gonna miss it

  • damn the back to the future set is gone....:(

  • I hope that the Ghost Whisperer set is ok they filmed on the old back to the future set and I heard that the courthouse was burned down and the clock was damaged

  • The stuff that got destroyed was a king kong set, a back to the future set and the Universal Video vault.

  • ohhhh my god its terrible but its ok... i dnt mind if everything is burned i just hope god spares the make up's of paris hilton...ohhhh lala karambah

  • so... this is happening right now? thats... terrible.. I really don't hope anyone is injured or anything! ... wonder what started it... guess I'll have to wait till the news comes up!

  • Very sad. I wonder if the vaults with all of the film history are safe. I understand no-one seriously injured. Thank God. I do hope that this was not a case of arson. We here in San Diego were devestated by the arson related fires of last year.

  • I passed the fire at about 9:30 this morning on my way to Disneyland. It looked sooo bad! There black clouds and it looked like there was a volcano!

  • Is that karma?

  • can you see sharon stone in there?

  • ARRG 'Hill Valley' is burned down.. im so frustrated..

  • interesting. its really anoying how there like the show must go on the show must go on. im like yes we know!

  • Excuse me, but before anybody makes pronouncements on the 'Karma' of this terrible occurrence, I would just like to point out that this was clearly NOT a natural disaster.

This was obviously most likely an arson, considering that it happened in a place that the public have access to- this is terrible, and a HORRIFYING crime.

The perpetrators will be VERY sorry, because I understand that the studios had security cameras all around?

Rather than prove Karma, you have proven zealots dangerous!!!!!!

  • NBC-UNIVERSAL has Insuranc..they will have it rebuilt the backlot that is...probably does this mean the rebuilt of King Kong would be an stand alone ride then having the tram go thru it?

  • It was interesting at first you know I'm not happy about the way the Hollywood is treating the Chinese because I don't think anyone should be unkind to anyone else,And then this Fire and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you're not nice that the bad things happen to you?

  • ur fucking stupid... there is a lot of chinese people working there u fucking idiot.,,,

  • you mean me or Sharon Stone? I quoted her words. :)

  • who ever said or wrote that.... stupid ignorant people

  • So Sharon Stone is Hollywood? She's the only one who made the ignorant comment. You didn't quote her words, you paraphrased it but tried to make it sound like it's Hollywood's fault for the fire. And yes, there is a good portion of Chinese Americans working in Hollywood... so what does that mean if your comment is true?

  • I have two questions:

    1. is that a karma?

    2. is sharon stone in the fire?

  • This is not a punishment from God. God loves gays, Jews, Californians, and all humans. If

God wanted to bring his vengeance down on

California, it would have been much worse.

  • oh man.

    :(

  • Chuck Norris would had round house kicked the fire out

  • lol tru dat

  • This is not a huge deal, but considering the King Kong exhibit, which is very old, was destroyed. That is a big loss. They have the schematics so they will be-able to rebuilt the sets, but still, a big loss.

  • Amazing video,

  • hollywood has bad luck first the back to the future ride get replace and now the clock tower burn down .

  • California owns you. go read the bible more....

  • kay im a christian and this is offensive

God dosent hate gays and porn starts so he most definatly kill a bunch of innocent people for that

    bad stuff happens

    it makes us STRONGER

its not ment to bring us down

stop acting like such a know it all

  • Movie sets? Last I checked Back to the Future wasn't "porn" or "gay" but maybe it's that "stuff" you're sure God is fed up with anyway?

For people who believe like your comment, and I'm sure there are some -- stop going to movies, stop watching tv, stop using medicines created here, stop using companies from here... In fact, too late! I believe YouTube is a California company, you're already corrupted!

  • That really sucks... My school is having a prom there next Saturday...

  • i would say lucky. . .

because i'm stuck in gay hawaii.

but. . .thats sucks a lot!

    D:

    i liked universal studios.

  • Liked Universal Studios? It's not like it burned down completely. And tons of people would love to be in Hawaii. Consider yourself lucky. Hawaii can teach you not to be materialistic.

  • Int. Sound Effect: Bimmg Boong Bang....Boong Bing, Bang Boooong..

Loudspeaker,Dispatcher's voice:"Squad 51,see the man at Universal Back lot. Fully involved Large Replica Monkey Fire."

Randolph Mantooth turns, concerned, from his spot at firehouse stove, where he is once again cooking his infamous, yet never actually eaten, noodle dinner, and says,"This is the last time I spend my own money making this infamous, yet never eaten, noodle dinner."

Ext. shot: Engines pulling onto street,Code 3

  • They needed the boys from Station 51 from the Emergency show.
