7 consecutive notes constitute infringement...as a guitar player for over 35 years, I can assure you the first two entire lines are completely the same as O. Garden...just sayin'...
Want to blow your mind? Play Octopusess Garden by the Beatles after hearing this song. They are virtually identical musically sans lyrics and arrangement.
@rickycasino Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The verses really do sound like Octopusess Garden. Now Im wondering wich came first, the chicken or the egg? LOL!
@DeeMarks1980 what are you talking about it sounds exactly like it not to take any thing away from millsap i really think this is a great song i just think it sounds alot like ouctupus graden
Ronnie is THE MAN and that's the way it is. Singing about life and love. I've been living it for 52 years and can relate in my life to his songs and that is what makes country music so enduring...
It's not exactly a complex melody. The Beatles were great but don't forget they used Beethoven's work too. Music is for everyone to enjoy, regardless who first combined the notes.
If you are a Ronnie Milsap fan, beware of two posters, soup6552 and random3attmpt. They are going on Ronnie's song sites and spreading vicious lies about him. They are two of the most vulgar creatures (can't call them human) that I have ever seen. They have even threatened me with bodily harm for defending Ronnie. They are jealous that Ronnie is blind and able to accomplish much more in his life than they ever will. Let's protect Ronnie's good name!
I can't seem to get over you ! It's not from lack of trying! I guess I'll always love. I see you every where. Even though I know you'll 1000 miles away!
Just When I Thought I was Done Loving You..."D"..You Are BAck On My Mind Again! I MISS YOU AND YOUR SMILE..YOUR PRETTY EYES...YOUR JOKES..I MISS IT ALL..
thx for all the ronnie milsap song u've uploaded, he's a great romantic soft singer, i like him so much. and thx for posting the lyrics for each song!
Remember playing the crap out of this song in my '03 Cobra. I suggest getting his 40 #1 hits. It's a 2-cd set with a ton of great songs-especially the late 70's and early 80's tunes.
some of the most heartfelt songs i have ever heard in my life. Ronnie inst country he isn't pop. he transcends all genres and you cant deny something when its real and from the heart. amazing songwriting.
Mellow, laid back country music from the late 70's. Not one of Ronnie's greatest tunes, but a solid song that sounds better than anything on country radio right now.
In an octopusses garden...

"Back On My Mind Again" peaked at number two on the Billboard Country Singles Chart for three weeks behind "The Gambler" in December 1978.

This song is perfect. There is not one wasted word or beat. I don't know of any other song that is so resonant.

Holy Crow this song is absolutely a plagiarized version of Ringo Starr's "Octopus's Garden"!!!

I think Ringo hummed the basic tune of the
Beatles song, but it was basically written
by Lennon/McCartney, OR Harrison and
Starr. Just my opinion.
yourimageunreels 2 years ago
I hope he's paying royalties to Ringo because this is a real steal of his tune "Octopus's Garden".

Ha Ha Jamarks, that is the first thing that came to mind when I heard this song too. A total copy but somehow I don't think the Beatles cared.
