  • Very cool stove. :-)

  • You got to be kidding, these people have lived thousands of years and just now heard of a chimney?

Maybe not a good idea too many of these dimwits may be bad for Peru.

Let them evolve on their own pace.

  • I just can't believe that a civilization has not been able to develop a solution to it's own problem, as simple as this one is... The stove is made with mud from their own back yards and a simple wooden form. You say these things cost $15.00 each?? initially that sounds inexpensive, but the only investment is the wooden form, which is re-usable... one form could build every stove in the village. Teach a man to build his own stove and keep our money here!!!

  • I bet they are healthier than you since they live far from civilization.

  • Hello dubsaloon,

Would like to respond as directly as possible to help answer your questions, but would need a bit more of an idea of what you are talking about.

  • I like the stove but the lie at the end is not acceptable. Taking my money to give to third work countries with no accountability and not control at all over who is enriched is pure lard.

  • silly nonsense. like all enviro-nonsense, you start with unsubstantiated claims, then jump to an over complicated solution. In the first 10 sec. one could simply say "build a chimney"....end of video. I am not saying rocket stoves aren't cool and efficient, but why all the hyperbole? You harm your own cause.

  • excelente.

En africa estan usando una cocina mas rudimentaria pero muy economica.

Usan la tecnica de TAPIAL (tierra comprimida) y da muy buenos resultados.

  • very worthwhile , i see so many undeveloped nations cooking using coal.. this will help reduce global emissionms greatly using this rocket stove /( similar design ). you need to add a brick over the one cooker if not in use to get the better draw

  • thanks..

  • Excellent job bro , helping those who are in needs . I salute you !

  • Finally, the design of this stove took into account 5 years of testing with local communities. So, ultimately, the issue of adoption and affordability outweigh slight potential increases in efficiency in our experience...

  • Thanks folks for the input. With regard to the Rocket stove, what is ultimately most important is adapting to local cooking habits and distribution. There are hundreds of stove designs around the world and all have different qualities and levels of efficiency. This stove costs about 15 USD to make... it much less expensive than a rocket stove. In terms of cooking efficiency - these stoves are rated at 30-50% efficiency which may not be the best but is pretty high.

  • @rawebb1 I would beg to differ about the cost, as you can use the same materials to make a rocket stove for exactly the same cost, while *drastically* increasing the safety and efficiency.

  • there is still a lot of smoke coming out of the chimney. try using the rocket stove principle. it is more efficient. you helping the people in a depressed area is very much appreciated, please don't take my comment in a negative way but rather take it to improve what we are trying to achieve in helping others in need and also our planet.

  • It's a rocket Stove,

The Smoke is Because of Starting Burning, It Need enough Heat to Pull more air into the Stove,

When The Air & Heat Enough, The Smoke will Disappear Naturally.

  • Thank you for your giving & sharing. P.S. If you could bring this to the tarahumara of northern Mexico it would change many thousands of lives and help save their environment also.

  • Comment removed

  • an ancient caveman would be very impressed and good for you helping those people:)

  • we can all improve something in our lives but the dramatic improvments are great!

  • Fantastic, so simple and effective.

  • Outstanding work!

  • you put the clay to a form, and in that way give it a form, but how do you dry the clay to fix it so hard? do you only dry the clay in the sun to get it to a hard form, or do you even make fire to make it hard? some one who can explain?

  • basicaly i think the jist of it is take the fumes outside

to make most bricks you need dirt/sand , water & clay or lime

its realy not that difficult but the chimney principle may be key here. more than that you

bricks & concreet make for ideal heating as it keeps heat for long periods of time

  • Is there a place to see the detailed designs and maybe print them out for others? What about instructions on how to make the bricks used to build it?

  • i'm not sure. i did an internship with ProPeru building these stoves and we went all over to several different coummnities. sorry, i wasn't much help.

  • does anyone know which community this video was taken in?
