See, Primus knew they weren't exactly "Top 40" material, so they devised the catchphrase "Primus sucks" as sort of a tongue-in-cheek reference to that fact. In turn, it was used as a positive motto for the band. It actually meant quite the opposite by fans. So when someone says "Primus sucks", they are actually expressing fondness for Primus.
