@soundersfcfanatic Is that all you can say? Seattle get smarter please. Because apparently, our fans are more loyal and passionate then you guys, get a family please.
God, I can't wait to wipe the smug of those Sounder douches on a pro level next year = ) "Oh look at us in our fancy NFL stadium" Just a bunch of wankers!
Timbers... What a name! Why not call them the TP's because they wiped their backsides on the landscape and are now they are unemployed. By the way TP's would be appropriate when the Sounders get hold of them. But then again it will be nice for the Sounders to be able to use their second team now and then to rest star players.

Good support by Portland fans. But lets be real, theyre not gonna be as good as the Sounders. Seattle has a better stadium, owner, market. And merchandising isnt even gonna be close. Still, way to go Portland.
"The rules of football were codified in England by the Football Association in 1863, and the name 'association footbal'l was coined to distinguish the game from the other forms of football played at the time, specifically rugby football. The term soccer originated in England, first appearing in the 1880s as a slang abbreviation of the word 'association', often credited to former England captain Charles Wreford-Brown."
This team has awesome fans, I am originally from Liverpool (I now live in Portland, Oregon) and went to Liverpool games a lot. There are not as many fans at Timbers games but the fans are REALLY passionate, they NEVER stop singing, and are always STANDING!! Its really good.
Timbers colors and logo are indeed staying for MLS. No kit has been unveiled yet. Timbers Army and FO will be involved in the designing the new kits. One thing we do know for certain, our lads won't look as ridiculous as the Flounders in bright lime green.
The addition of PDX and Wankouver will be a huge success for Football in the US, The NW corridor will be the premier rivalry region in the MLS, it has been for years dating back to the old NASL days.
I guess it was just announced today that the Timbers will join MLS in 2011! :) (I still hope the uniforms will be updated emphasizing the city/team name logo and de-emphasizing or removing that obnoxious Toyota ad since I'm not a big fan of giant ads on jersey) I think the additions of Sounders FC, Portland Timbers and the new Vancouver team will be great for the pacific northwest and the MLS now the 3rd most popular sports league in the U.S... Why can't we get any tv news coverage? :/).
One of the reasons I like these vids is the enthusiasm of the Timbers fans. We have that here too. Check out a couple of the vids for Xolos of Tijuana:
/watch?v=olE_Ybsb5ZQ&feature=related
/watch?v=cBAq8xPgde4&feature=related
I didn't mean to offend Timbers fans by asking if anyone was supporting the new MLS Sounders FC which is not the same team as the old USL Sounders anyway (the fans were the ones who wanted the Sounders name) it was a legitimate question as many Portlanders do!
Good to know. When I made that comment I had spoken to a couple of people that said they were I was just glad to see an MLS team in the pac northwest I only found out about the Timbers from doing a web search and haven't been living in ptown since about 2000 though I visit. That comment was made based on my own ignorance and I apologize. No I don't think any Portlanders should support the flounders. I am glad that all 3 pac nw teams will be in MLS though and am interested in going to the games.
Hahaha. Are you kidding me? You aren't even a professional team. If the timbers beat Juventus FC, a piss-ant little liga 2 team which couldn't finish past 11th place will be no match. ;) Go back to your amateur team little boy.
Cool, m interested in learning more about the Timbers and would LOVE it if they or another team representing my hometown made it into the MLS. To be
honest though I'm kinda sceptical about green/Timbers being a good color/name to represent Ptown... sounds more like rural Oregon (logging) to me.. I think red, black and white would be better colors to represent the Rose City. I would incorporate the rose into the logo or name.. maybe a rose with cityscape (conv ctr/rose garden/river/downtown).
So are any Timbers fans/Portlanders supporting the new MLS Seattle Sounders FC?? I know I am (I'm in SD now). Hey if Portland gets a team I'll switch as my heart is with ptown but for now Seattle are repping the Pac Northwest and I'll support them. I also love the fact that Drew Carey is a minority owner and head of the membership group that plays a role in team decision making (I'd rather the teams were owned by the cities and fans but this is a step in the right direction).
Yes,TRAVEL. All caps, as if you're the only person on earth who has ever gone out of their respective country? Do you want a T-Shirt in commemoration? Perhaps a coffee mug? ;) Hmm. Sounders. You must be one of the 160 Portlanders who bought a Flounders season ticket? Am I right? Funny, Traitor comes to mind Anyhow, at the time this video was made , Seattle was indeed USL, however, if you think the rivalry of Portland Vs. Seattle is beneath you, then you arent a real Flounders fan, either.
Dude... slow your role. I don't consider myself a Sounders fan so calling them "Flounders" doesn't bother me it's actually mildly amusing. I did say I "support" them and am glad to see a MLS team in the Pacific Northwest though I hope Portland is soon added to that list. I also like KC Wizards (where I was born and have family.. so I can go to their games when I visit) and listed a few teams I like in other leagues... I respect die hard fans and have been a Chicago Bears fan for about 23 years.
"You must be one of the 160 Portlanders who bought a Flounders season ticket? Am I right?"
No. I currently spend most of my time in SoCal and Baja California. If I were going to buy "season tickets" for a soccer team it would be in the Masacr3 section of Estadio Caliente the new home of Club Tijuana Xoloscuintles. I *always* root for the US National team even here in Mexico but I really like the new local team we have here which thanks to rel/promotion may advance to the top tier in Mex soccer.
I honestly think you would fit right in with Seattle's fanbase, seeing as how you are here prattling on like anyone actually gives a shit which teams you do or do not like? I'd imagine your ego doesn't fit well in small spaces, am I getting warm? Vuil Flikker. :D
