Christmas 1990 Channel 4 showed several Chinese films and this was one of them, brilliant. The others were Mr Vampire, Rouge, Espiri d'amour.

I was a bit of a martial artist in those days but the films gave me the most pleasure, the dafter the better, Nice to hear you saw them too.

I love this, my favourite Sammo film. I've seen it on dvd but the subtitles are shockingly bad.

It was shown on UK tv in the late 80's with far better subtitles, is this version available anywhere?

You can get the Hong Kong Legends version with Cantonese/English Audio with English subtitles.

Thanks for that. I can't remember what dvd I watched but I checked out the HKL site and Sammo's name in the film is 'Bold Cheung', not 'Courageous Cheung' so I suspect it has the pants subtitles I saw before. Cheers though!
