Thank you everyone for the compliments. I rarely look at those, so thank you. Kind of a new experience being in front of a camera. There will be some great new material in store for 2012. Be sure to check out wwww combatnetworkmag com for my technique section
@amill1461 Our school is basedout of Columbia, Maryland not far from the mall. Please email me at md.csw@hotmail.com for info. I leave for Thailand this friday, so we can at least get you some info upon my return. We welcome you to come by & train w/ us for the day
@mackGUNS Yes but not as much as training with people that beat you up on a consistent basis. You can practice techniques you are bad at on someone worse but you eventually need to practice them on people that are better than you.
Excellent tutorial for defending against a clinch. I do the same by putting my shin against their legs, but they don't react to that and instead let go of me all the time.
@luvatoyota I train under him, he's an amazing coach. Please do not disrespect. This move is alot harder than it looks while in a real muay thai match. But it is extremely effective even for a short guy. You should try it.
THE TECHNIQUE DEMOSTRATED ON THIS VIDEO IS OF HIGH CALIBER .
BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE VERSIOSN .
KNEE PLACEMENT CAN VARY ACROSS BELLY OR LEGS OR THIGHS.
ENTRY TO THIS MOVE DEPEND ON THE SITUATION LEADING INTO IT .
MANY MANY TIMES I HAVE USED THIS AS A BLOCK THEN A STRETCH OUT TO A TIME KILLER HOLDING DOWN THE OPPONENTS NECK .
THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED MOVE AND NOT DONE ENOUGH OUT SIDE OF THAILAND .. THIS MOVE IWHEN DONE AT THE RIGHT TIME IS A WORK OF ARE . LEARN HOW ,WHEN ,USE
No one puts their shin across both legs the way he shows in the second example. Also in the first example his standing leg should be farther back so he doesn't get swept and that will keep more pressure on the other guys legs/hips, which will make it harder for him to work.
hey alvin(same name as mine).. i fight in a muay thai competition no offence but i think you forgot about the clinch throws.. in my fights when my opponent do that defensive "shin across clinch", i always get him knocked to the ground by the clinch throws.. fighters dont really push the ur knee downward but to throw u down on the floor with ur 1 foot only balancing ur body.. so i advice the close clinch hugging until the ref breaks you two. :)

this move is great !
there is more that can be done with this technique than they are teaching in this video ..
there are a few counters and throw routinely executed the stylists .
i particularly like the climb up if your leg is trapped.
i hope these good fellows know the extra moves that complement this great technique.
in any case this is an excellent starting point..
make it happen

You won't see that too much in MMA, because like that it's very easy to get taken down, you are not really in balance
But great for thai boxers, or guys having good balance on one foot (see BJ Penn for an example)
