Iv had this phone for 9 months and its broken down twice.

The big issue is the clock not working, as this makes all the email and some text sending or recieving not work.

Iv also phound that the screen will not work a drop list on the net, so if you have a long list of choices on a web page its almost imposible to work it....

It is good and fast on some things and the camera ap is great, youtube and twitter works well in the UK but.... over all, its ok, but other phones are better.

I've hd this phone since feb 2010 (on a 2 yr contract) wen i 1st received the phone i loved it.. i really liked the swype feature but i wasn't fond of it running on windows and bcoz i'm not a tech wizkid i'm limited 2 wot i can do wiv the phone. I've twice had 2send it bck 2 tmob 2b repaired coz it kept freezin & switchin itself off mid text/call even after upd8ting its rom, tbh its the worst phone i've ever come across wiv the problms i've had wiv it & its ruined my experience of htc. :o(

From personal experiance, i'd suggest you not to buy it. Not worth the money, sure the features and everythng looks good but the phone is very laggy. it has many problems in its stock software system(ROM). and it gets boring after a while, the windows market doesn't have any cool apps. So i'd say go with an android phone like htc evo or many others. You'd be satisfied a lot more with other phones.

UPDATE! : If you load a new rom for your HTC Leo (3.2 official rom) you will get ULOCKED MEMORY of 570 RAM of something around it!! Cause that "lost" memory was reserved for windows only! :)

i have this phone. im running droid software on it from my memory card. much better than the windows software this came with. basically i have a windows phone with android on it. its pretty awesome especially with this large screen. also im typing this from my phone. dont think i'll update phones anytime soon. this baby satisfies me just fine

i dig concepts of smartphones but i would buy a ultramobile pc because they will always have ethernet port(in case the wifi malfunctions), real usb 2.0 ports, & all other basic stuff. smartphones, 2 me, just don't offer that kind of backup options, should other things malfunction. after i $ umpc, i will probably $ a smartphone. unlike umpc, they do fit in a jacket pocket. i would $ a iPad, but iPad don't offer ethernet jack. plus, 2 buy smartphone cheap, u have 2 get 2 year contracts. it sucks.

The process of getting out of this is called "jailbreak" and as per my knowledge, US law allows it. But then you break the contract with your career and so the warranty of device. On the other hand, you're free to use your iPhone as your normal phone device and can use it with any career then.

@ruturaaj I believe you mean to say the word carrier, and not "career". Also, it isn't called "jailbreaking". That's what you do strictly for iPhones. Jailbreaking is simply hacking into a phone's OS. Making it more easy to customize it, and attain charged programs and apps for free. What you do for this phone is "unlocking". It usually costs about $30. But you can do it for free, if you have the know-how. Although, I've never heard of anyone unlocking this particular device. Look into it.

I had to eventually revamp my Windows OS as well. Awesome improvement. Many things can be done with this phone. Enjoy.

This HD2 has some very nice physical features! I had this phone for 2 days and believe it or not, I returned it and went for the IPhone 4. Why? well.. The HD2 comes with Windows M6.5 and I had to reset the HD2 two times in order to get it back on it's feet. The apps I got from Marketplace didn't install properly, the OS became laggy after a short while and so on. True! this HTC HD2 is awesome but should come with Android 2.1 cause Windows mobile just won't do justice to this incredible phone.

I still use my Hd2, only BECAUSE I installed android/froyo. This improvement has brought it back from the brink of being returned. Even now, I still want the iPhone 4. Simply being, those are the 2 best OS's available. And they're entirely different from one another. It's a win/win! Windows? Not even close. Thanks, for your awesome input.

@PinkAshes77 You can do that with a wi-fi phone. If you connect a phone to your wi-fi, you can use it for free, it's just you have to pay to use 3g (or 2g) internet connection (unless you have a contract which gives you unlimited 3g/2g (obviously, you'd need to pay for the contract))

Yes its 3G compatible, nearly all smart phones are now unless you buy an unlocked phone from a separate party and it won't do 3G on your network.
