  • This is freaking hilarious!!!

  • Carlyle was a good reviewer, but a total condescending ass.

  • "Marxist was a socialist."

    Lmao.

  • While I miss carlyle, I'm kind of happy he's gone so I no longer have to hear his over analyzations of certain films and his love of Michael Bay.

  • @AlexG8462 This was a joke, on how people take ANY movie and over analyze it. And apparently because someone loves a director you don't, when they leave, you're glad you don't have to hear it anymore? Sounds kinda dick-ish, doesn't it?

  • @Jman92854 Clearly you don't listen to Spill that often, because there was one podcast where Korey brings up "The Lion King" and Carlyle yelled out "FUCK THE LION KING!!!" This analysis of The Lion King is really the craziest thing I've ever heard, and not in a good way. He also thought that "The Ant Bully" was about communism. Think about how crazy that sounds.

  • @AlexG8462 Here's the thing, it's called a recurring joke. You do know that half the spill crew use fake names, right? In fact, you are the one who hasn't listened to them enough, because they screw up and say their real names in quite a few of their reviews. Basically, these reviewers are characters they play, but the opinions on movies are real. Do you honestly believe Korey was a security guard at a mall?

  • This was good. I like how they disagree entirely, but can still jokingly debate with each other, mostly calm and laughing.

  • GO GO GO CARLYLY!!!!

  • Carlyle is such a douchebag in this particular rant, but he does have a good point. There's no way in hell that the Lion King was MADE to be propaganda, but you can definitely take that message from it.

  • Holy shit, he's right!! Carlyle is a fucking genius.

  • RIP my childhood

  • More people need a mindset like this.

  • @1805902349

maybe he's a nazi jew, too. xD

  • Preach on brother Carlyle!!

  • Lion King ripped off "Kimba the White lion." It has nothing to do with all the crap he is talking about.

  • @KRiderMan1248

Now that is the one I have issue with. Of all the Lions in Africa the WHITE one has to be the ruler .

  • @Joeybsmooth and the black one is the evil one. Yeah its really a problem, but its easy to see why this type of thing happens. All through man's history, people of lighter skin have always been seen as "special" even among other white people. I suspect that it has to do with being seen as favored by sun gods or something like that. The fact that it is still relevant today shows how little people have grown. =/

  • @1805902349 He's a republican silly goose! :P

  • @RobotMice Carlyle is the rare cool republican.

  • You know what Carlyle, The Lion King isn't about communism, but Kung Fu Panda IS!!!!!!!

  • Carlyle we're gonna miss you. Loving how he's messing with the Disney fans.

  • I don't like the lion king, but... wow

  • @1805902349

Ok, I'm trying not to comment on what you guys are saying, but you're a fucking idiot who should pick up a dictionary. Anarchist socialist... God damn...

  • That is such a broken argument.... Carlyle is no better than those absurd uber-right wing politicians he is speaking out against. Just because you draw an insane correlation between this film and political agenda does not mean it exists. Points for imagination but other than that pure drivel...

  • @nickharvey86 This was a joke. Carlyle even said so.

  • I'll miss Carlyle :(

  • Aww man why couldnt lion king be a book.........

i'd totally do this for my english lit coursework on marxist literature

  • @StephZish I think it is... Or at least has been turned into one.

  • you well be one with the borg, resistance is futtaLL!!!

  • if it was communison there would not be a king! or calss ,so yeah it's caplaist

  • wow...this just supports my theory of anarchy

  • Don't take it seriously. He was making fun of over analyzing films. You know, the kind of people who say that Jaws is an obvious metaphor for the Vietnam War.

  • I'm gonna say my peace on this: I wish people wouldn't make such a big deal out of the Lion King. Yes, it's a well-done movie and the musical is fantastic. However, I don't like it when people read so much into a Disney movie. This not only counts this communism idea that Carlyle posed, but also includes the subliminal message BS that keeps circulating around (ie "Good Teenagers...take off your clothes). Also, Carlyle sounds pretentious and condesending. Glad that Korey didn't take that tat.

  • Wow! I like Carlyle but he obviously doesn't understand capitalism. what America has is crony capitalism. its corporatism.

  • Damn this makes sense!

  • Carlyle, I really like you man, but you're hunting for subtext that isn't there.

It's like me saying Wizard of Oz was an allegory to the present obesity crisis

  • i always thought it was just about u cant run away from your problems

  • This rant seems to equally describe Soviet style Communism and free market capitalism. Both of them work great on paper but end up with the privileged few shitting all over everyone else. As cliche as it sounds, the best solution probably lies somewhere in the middle

  • I always believed the messae was you can't run away from your problems...

  • @Jvegi2 My bad.Thanks for posting.

  • Whats the date on this one?

  • the medium is the message, and television/film is not communistic or capitalistic, it is democratic and tyrannic, it is a luxury good, a distraction of the distraction, propoganda propoganda.

  • Carlyle wins at life.

  • I'm with carlyle on this one, only because he does show how socialism and capitalism is the same, it's just that in socialism everyone prospers, in capitilism the top prosper.

  • talk about trickle down economics.

  • ...WOW...

  • makes sense if u think bout it

  • um i enjoy the rant and i get it but its probaly about the food chain

  • simba wasent happy living with timone and pumba, he was just running away from his problems, drowning them out, but he wasent happy. He still felt crushing guilt since he thought he caused his father's death.

  • @hotrod2c He seemed pretty happy, eating bugs, and singing songs, and oh, SMILING quite a few times! He only seemed guilty when people brought it up, other than that, he was perfectly fine until Nala found him.

  • carlyle should hear confusedmatthew's review of the lion king

  • @hotrod2c I think Carlyle is above Matthew.

  • The Lion King is a good movie, Carlyle interpreted it very incorrectly.

  • How does Carlyle come up with this crazy stuff XD

  • Why's Carlyle gotta be a pretentious dick sometimes?

  • @Nanaman12345 how so?

  • Okay, first, those who are actually buying this are readding way too much between the lines, second, it was a joke, Carlyle clarified it on the next ACOCO and sort of apologized about it, not too sincerely mind you. He does this weird kind of jokes, he pulled a similar joke with Happy Fett on AICN, and people took it too seriously there too.

  • classic case of analyzing something to much. NOT EVERYTHING HAS A HIDDEN MESSAGE OR MEANING. You see what you want to see

  • This is such bullshit. Simba HAD to go back because everyone was ruined and fucked.

The 'driblings' the animals eat is what ANIMALS EAT.

  • Anybody Know which ACOCO Carlyle said the other shows are lower ranked or are finished less frequently?

  • I think the fact that there is a privileged king who rules all his subjects clashes with the idea that everyone is an individual responsible for him-herself. I think the film is a capitalist propaganda in that it states that communism:bad, capitalism: greta cause we really need some rich people running the coutry and having 95% of the wealth. We don't need that; We need people to earn the amount of money they deserve and so cut down on footballers' and film stars' salaries.

  • anti individual.... I have one disney copyrighted word that trumps the lion kings hold on that front.

    Princess.

  • the music in there was clever though and anyway let's face it? do kids know about capitalism or communism? do they give a fuck? no they just enjoy it and they dont care about some messege. the only ones you got talkin shit is adults, not the movie's intended audience.

  • Agreed

  • @PeanutsDotCom

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

    Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!

Finally, someone who gets it. People, stop reading so much into it. It's NOT a capitalist/socialist/communist/anything-ist rant. It's just a movie. If you believe that the film holds a strong message, that's your deal. For me, personally, though, people make the biggest deal out of the Lion King and don't let it just be. I apologize if this sounds like I'm being defensive, but stop reading so much into a Disney film.

  • I don't think Simba was really happy...it's just that Matthew Broderick made it seem like Simba was happy because the motherfucker can't act.

  • @murdickie He was happy, but at the expense of others.

  • What does that even mean? Also no he was not happy it's just that he thought he was happy...I thought the script made that pretty clear.

  • I gotta side with Korey on this one. Capitalism at its worse is individuals doing whatever they want and disregarding everyone else. The Anti-Individualist message comes from Marxism/Socialism where everyone has a roll in the collective (Circle of Life) and your personal goals and desires are set aside. Good rant though, which you can only here from ACOCO

  • Carlyle you crazy!

  • You know Massawyrm IS Carlyle, right?

  • Fucking hell...he's right!!

  • You know what would be awesome - if there were images to go along with this. Slideshow style! Hells yeah! That Carlyle is the mother fucking man, yo! His shit is dope!

  • Comment removed

  • @massawyrm caryle, i exept your challenge
